I used every potion I had and was spamming water balls like crazy, but damn, I feel like I finally accomplished something, even if it's not much of an achievement anymore. I'm pretty sure everyone can do it by this point.
Nonetheless, it feels good to finally conquer FSC and its boss. Now I'm ready for future runs.

I'll pass on buying the crest from you; I'd rather earn enough tokens to buy it myself and cave the CE. Gives me a goal to work towards.
And once I get my crest, I won't need Grey Owlite anymore. I'll have enough elemental defense already.

Enough already?
If your shield has no elemental and you do a (say) construct themed T3 stratum, it's likely to break very quickly under the following relatively common circumstances: 2 or more Rocket Puppies spawn, you get hit by a lumber, you get hit by a retrode beam, or you get hit by a Mecha Knight's swipe. The whole point of T3 is not to get hit, and the shield makes it even less likely for you to be hit, but you shouldn't count on the armor's protection and have the wrong shield, as a broken shield is worse than useless.

Congratulations!
Good work on killing the Lord of Almire. If you're interested in some more runs I would be happy to join, my IGN is Shidara.

And the folks are right, do keep your Grey Owlite Shield. You should always have different shields for different stratums. Customization is key, and throwing away your shield for a completely different one is a huge mistake. Besides, I've concluded that the Grey Owlite Shield is more useful than the Crest of Almire in the Firestorm Citadel (at least in my experience), so that's even more of a reason to keep it.
I'm on a quest to collect 190 Almirian Seals to get one of everything, so I'll be available for some time.

Yeah man you need to keep your Grey Owlite Shield. I too thought I would be able to ditch it once I got the Crest of Almire but I was wrong. As for which is better for FSC can't really say. I've noticed that the Crest breaks at times the Grey Owlite doesn't but! during the Vana fight my Grey Owlite breaks faster than the Crest. As for other runs the Crest is useless in IMF and yeah there are other T3 strata you're gonna need it for. You may have elemental defense in other things but if you need elemental defense and your shield doesn't have it, its gonna break and you're gonna die. Keep the Grey Owlite its your best friend and despite what others might say probably the best well rounded shield in the game.
