Seriously, it's not shiny or anything. It's stupid that it's now considered more valuable than blue or green sets, just because it says Gold in the title. It looks like butter.
Why wasn't the Gold set named "Yellow"?
But if they named the gold set as it's named, why didn't they name the other two emerald and sapphire?
Because no one wants to be Yellow Ranger. It's just Asian.
DISCLAIMER: This poster is Asian, and thus does not feel racist when associating yellow rangers with Asians. The first American Power Ranger was Asian, and this was mostly a reference to that. This poster thought this was a silly question, and responded with a silly answer. This poster did not expect people to jump on that post like the poster had a deep, gnawing hatred of Asians from a single line.
Personally I think they all look silly. Total waste of money in my opinion.
Guess they didn't use precious gems, just precious metals...
...and if they were all gems or something, the old set should've been Ruby, Onyx and Pearl...
Since when were green, blue, red, black, and white precious metals.
Well I guess if they're going to make it all power rangers colors rather than gems and metals they should not have gone with Gold instead...
FireRed and LeafGreen, Gold, Silver, Sapphire, and Black.
dont be a racist . I believe your country depends on Asian and middle east for economy growth. And I believe in every country , there is a place call china town for Asian only.
So please respect Asia .
So wearing a black or white cheapeu makes u a more superior race ?
Best reg
Icycloud gm coup de grace.
@eradicats: Are those Pokemon games? :D
icycloud has made, officially, the most confusing post I've seen on these forums yet...
Go Go Power Rangers!
You mighty morphin' Power Ranger-ers!
This poster is Asian and cares very little for her blood country, if at all. Cares little for her home country too but hey, far better than that other place, must admit.
And FYI (to someone above me, can't be bothered to look up who), Chinatown isn't for Chinese only. It's just a place where Asians tend to gather together in one area, especially immigrants, because people naturally feel better when they're around people who are similar(ish?) to them. Hell, here, there's a place where it's mostly Italian, there's one that's mostly Korean, and there's one that's mostly Vietnamese.
Actually Gold is also officially a color.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_%28color%29
So the Gold items are something between the Vegas gold and the Old gold.
The set could have been called Tabard of the Vegas Gold rose, or Chapeau of the old gold rose ^^
Yellow is some thing you'll see on a highlighter. The shade of yellow the set is a bit more brownish appearance. Yes, gold is a metallic, but it is also titled as a color. If you ever had one of the huge boxes of crayons; lets say the gold color wasn't exactly shiny when you wrote on it.
Yeah, but it's misleading. In a game, "gold" things usually look, well, gold. But this looks like someone took a hat and spread butter all over it.
All the other color chapeaus are single syllables (Red, black, white, green, blue).
Clearly, this was done for syntactical reasons.
Exactly the reason you have stated. Gold is cool, yellow sounds totally uncool. :D
At this rate, we'll have Silver (gray) and Bronze (brown) Regalia sets next year.
