The wording of the playtest guide doesn't make this entirely clear so I thought I'd ask someone who has tested it. Do you keep the stats from your regular shield when changing classes, or is the class a "shield" that you equip which replaces your current shield?
Lockdown question: do classes replace your equipped shield? Or just the shield ability?

Instead of having a shield you have an "ability" that maybe rather shield like. It does not matter what shield you have equipped at the start of the battle, the class ability will override it.

So then, you lose any passive defensive bonuses from the shield you had equipped once you select a class. Such as elemental/normal/shadow/piercing or status defenses... right?

I did have this question.
I did have this question. Say I have barb shield equipped. Am I getting that attack bonus to swords stil when I'm in PVP? and is it intended to. Anyone know? Or else i'll check it out when its time for testing again.

You do not get -any- bonuses
You do not get -any- bonuses from the shield you had before the game starts. The shield is completely replaced with the ability. When in a Lockdown game open your player equip screen to see the new bonuses that are passively applied.
