there also seems to be something buggy with SKWindow2, not sure what exactly. didn't have the time to debug it.

What was the problem with SKWindow2?

My best guess is that had something to do with the fact that the colspan of the header was explicitly set to 7 . (Because not all browsers accept colspan=0 to span all columns.) I've added an additional parameter to control this value.
