In this new stage, there should be a way to block the *giant owlites*(the big black ones that you encounter in the dark) from bitting you without having to stay in the candlelight.
There should be a new vial that can only be found in candlestick keep that protects you from the *giant owlites* when in the dark for a short time and disapears when you go down the elevator to a new level which isn't Candlestick keep.
Please comment about my thought to help players play easier at candlestick keep. Thanks =)

thats the beauty of candlestick keep, you actually have to stay in the light or keep moving - otherwise its just scarlet fortress with lights turned out.
it makes it interesting

It depends

It depends what type of equipment you are using

CK can be a challenge sometimes. the corridors are to thin and the giant kats can get you every time because they block the path.
I have two suggestions.

1) make giant kats have to "charge" their attacks ( like all other monsters ). this gives you a change to run past them.

2) make embers paralyze kats ( self explanatory ).

also, they can form mobs of 4-5, which is very annoying. They need to make a limit of giant kats spawn at once.

what do you think?

The kats are slow and they take some time to notice you, no need to nerf them, and i think there is only 1 kat per player so the amount of them is fine.

Still, you can't get away from then in such a small passage. they just block the passage.

BTW, thanks. i didn't know there was already a limit.

Grimalkins

^^^ thats their name.

Anyway I have encountered about 8 of them chasing me and my 2 friends with me on the run. Although it was annoying that they kept killing my friends and i had to run back and save them, they aren't hard to avoid.

Also I made a game of it with my friends. Everytime we had a safe opening we would place a quote from either our perspective or the Grimalkin's perspective. It turned into a little story (lol) and I kept running ahead and seperating myself from the other two pretending that I was "consumed by the darkness. Also I hardly lit the candles unless I was in a fight and made them "fight the dark". It was quite interesting because it was funny to act out a little story and it also let them find out what to do there on their own instead of having a pro player do all the work with them landing a few hits on the enemy the pro isn't fighting. Think ill try this little trick every time I do a run with them. Win-Win situation + making a story of it = random fun :D

Now back to the topic.... Grimalkins are easy as it is. You're not supposed to block their attacks other than the candlelight. Only problem is the lack of heat and crowns as well as the length of the levels but its worth the fun :)

Thank you Three Rings!!

I don't know what system they're using but it doesn't seem like it's precisely one per player active. That or an extra one spawned when it shouldn't have done. Though the thing is you can't fight these so it's a rare case where more players, regardless of skill level, actually makes it harder than going solo. It'd make more sense if the levels were more open so each player could lure them away.

Honestly though it's not so much the difficulty as it is the slowness of the levels. Because when these creatures decide to spawn in ahead of you where they take up a large fraction of the passageway width you either have to sit in the light waiting for them to move away or dash past with a very real risk of them suddenly chomping on you - a risk that you really don't want to be facing in Tier 3.
