ok here is my problem. rite now i have an avenger. Should i sell it for a cold iron carver? i have the mats and recipie. tier three is no more joke. its all about defence and dammage, unlike in tier 2 a trojan doesn't take like 7 bars from you or feinds take 6-7. you need to kill then right away. i really like the fire storm cidatel and the avenger is a really good sword for that but with wolvers or gremlins i only do 115-159. with cic maybe 130 130 189 thats beast dammage compared to avenger. cic's charge is what i like, but low on dammage. i like avengers dammage and attack but slowness is really killing me. tempured calibur's line is the best line to me tied with sealed sword line. brandish sucks and so does flourish and cutter and spur (no offence) so... which should i chhose? (selling avenger only 140k includes unbind)

Don't listen to BTYM, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Vanquisher series.
Although compared to the avenger, you'd be pretty insane to use a CIC instead.
Keep the avenger, its a great sword with arguably the best charge attack in the game when it gets upgraded.
If you're only going to have one sword, you should replace your avenger with a normal-damage sword (like the Cold Iron Carver or Ascended Calibur), but I don't recommend that. The Cold Iron Carver is a fine sword, but it is no better than the Avenger, just different. It won't be weak against beasts and gremlins, but it also won't be strong against constructs and undead.
If swords are going to be your primary weapon, you shouldn't have only one sword. You should have at least one of each damage type and equip as needed for the stratum you're entering. Bring a piercing sword to a beast or fiend stratum, elemental to constructs or undead, and shadow to gremlin or slime.
Umm yeah, what Icee said. If you just need 1 sword then the Carver would do okay. However if you want to be really efficient, you should have a variety of them, and the avenger is a good one to have, AMONGST others.
@Marqui Leviathan Blade has the best charge attack mang. And the CIC barely outdamages the Levi at undead, and loses badly to it everywhere else. It's a piece of [solid waste excretion].
First of all, it "barely" out dammages the levi cuz its 5 star? have you thought about that?. it does about 10 more dammage against acended calibur and 20 more at normal. Its a good sword and avenger is a really good sword becuz when i get devine avenger thats can kill the "wheel launchers" in the first lvl of the firestorm cidatel on the part when there are pressure plates (second area).
