Try avoiding it by pressing and holding shield button firstand then press and hold fire button. Release shield button without releasing fire button. You should now be charging your bomb without "firing" before the charge begins and maybe it avoids the curse.

The above works with guns, so that you don't need to fire off a shot to begin charging. I am not sure it works with bombs (since I don't own bombs).
It might very well be that the initial fire button press is considered an attack, as it is with guns and swords, but you might avoid it doing this thing.
