Ekkosa's Gates and Minerals Chart

Between my adventures into the Clockworks, I have been collecting data about the gates to find out more about them. What determines a stratum's theme? How many of each mineral are other knights depositing into the gates? What comprised the gates of old? Have we collected more minerals than last week?

All of these questions are answered, and more, on the Gates and Minerals Chart!

On the first tab we have the current 4 pending gates and their mineral counts. The gate and stratum information is easily visible on the left while the ranking of minerals is colourfully laid out on the right end for easy comparison, leaving the hard data laid out in the middle for the people who want to get down and dirty with it. This tab is updated whenever I find the time with the latest data.

The second tab is the gate archive, a listing of all previously recorded gates in history. The only gate occupying this tab is Coral Pawn at the moment, but will soon be joined by Onyx Queen, Silver Knight, and every gate to come afterwards. This tab is updated once every two days, when the gates cycle.

The third tab is a listing of current observed stratum theme combinations. The chart may be tricky to read at first, let me know if anyone has trouble and I'll try to explain it further. Some of this data has been observed by other members of the community, and combinations that I have not seen personally are marked. Some of it was observed in beta, making it possibly incorrect until I've observed it. I update this chart whenever I see a new combination, chances are good that if I'm online, I'll see new combinations as soon as they happen.

The fourth tab is for general notes, musings, and pretty charts showing the distribution of minerals deposited in the gates. If there are any strange happenings, you'll probably find my speculation on it here. Updates whenever, probably once every two days to update the charts.

Want to contribute? Send an in-game mail to Ekkosa. I'm offering 500c to the first person to send me a link to a picture containing a screenshot of a distribution of minerals I haven't documented already. My preferred image-hosting service is Imgur because the links are short and easy to copy from in-game. No picture? No problem! Drop me a line if you like, but I'm only offering the cash if you have proof.

You're relying on gates

You're relying on gates tampered with by the devs in that chart, just so you know.

I'm starting to think that

I'm starting to think that when the in-game tip said to try figuring out what minerals make what strata, it was being sarcastic.

Magnus is right. We're going

Magnus is right. We're going to have to wait until things get stable by themselves before assembling reliable data.

Did you see my post in the Wiki section of gate types? It has a fairly large list of types.
I didn't check all of yours, but you are missing a couple I recorded, and I think your entry for YGR is wrong, as I observed fire multiple times.
I also have my notebook with a slightly-more-definitive list on hand if you would like me to type it up.

Re:

Magnus, ajericho - I realize that some gates were tampered with by the admins, I was able to record numbers and stratum theme previous to their intervention and is noted on the very left side as well as indicated on the stratum's theme by the presence of (Alloy).

Techhead - You know, you're probably right about YGR. I must have been looking at your list on the wiki forum and got it mixed up with the fire one. I've fixed it now, thanks. YGR as slime never really sat right for me for a while and now I can see why. If you've got more combinations than the ones on that thread then I would appreciate if you listed them. :D

Update

Just did an update on the sheet, there's a new tab I'll be using to show miscellaneous graphs. The most interesting of these graphs so far is probably the percentage mineral distribution over time.

This week, we've seen a drop in Valestone and a very hasty increase in Crimsonite, while Moonstone continues to drop slowly along with Dark Matter. The increase in Crimsonite has lead to a lot of beast strata, hopefully I'll get a chance to fill out and confirm a few of the Crimsonite-majority permutations in the coming weeks.

Anyone who follows this, I request that you strive to pick up the biggest minerals possible while preferring to take other minerals over Valestone. I'm not asking you to take a large Crimsonite over a huge Valestone, but to take a huge Crimsonite over a huge Valestone if the option is open. The faster we fill out the permutations chart, the faster guilds can plan and choose strata themes!

Ekko definitely did account

Ekko definitely did account for the admin tampering; it's noted so very clearly in the sheet, along with an indication of what the strata was previous to that intervention.

I wouldn't have guessed that

I wouldn't have guessed that pattern. That's why it threw off the combinations approach and seemed to support the permutations theory. And yet it's simple enough to tabletize. My cap's off to the devs.
