Dungeoneering Discounts when going to past Tiers

I'm in Tier 2 right now, and I have friends starting out at Tier 1. I want to join them, but the energy cost is the same as if I were in Tier 2 - I feel like I'm wasting my energy to play with my lowbie friends :( So if you get higher clearance, I think you should get a discount in Lower Tiers

Example:

Tier 3 Player
Tier 3: 10 Energy
Tier 2: 5? 6?
Tier 1: 2? 3?

Tier 2 Player
Tier 2: 10 Energy
Tier 1: 5 or 6

Tier 1 Player:
Tier 1: 10 Energy

No. Then it will become far

No. Then it will become far too profitable to just hang out in Tier 1 all day.

60 energy is all that's needed to do Tier 1. If you cut that in half (as an imaginary Tier 2 player), it becomes 30 energy.
In just a 60 energy run of tier 1 with no energy reduction, it's fairly easy for an advanced player to pull off AT LEAST 2000 crowns.
Now with that said energy bonus, it would become 2000 for 30 energy. Meaning you could make a 6000 minimum off of 90 energy as a Tier 2 player under this method. I don't have the full details but a standard Tier 2 run is about 8k crowns for 80+ energy.

And as a Tier 3 player? It would double again (roughly since half of 5 is 2.5 so its either 2 or 3 depending on how this would be implemented). So a Tier 3 player making 12000 minimum for 90 energy in the easier levels? Why would they bother to go down to Tier 3? "For the challenge" isn't a good enough reason for business minded players and materials are only so so.

You must be one lucky sucka,

You must be one lucky sucka, then. I get maybe 1k on Tier1 runs, and 3k-6k on Tier2 runs, if I'm lucky (and I'm currently only Tier2 capable). And I can end up using in excess of 100 energy (sometimes even 200, depending on who's in my party) on a Tier2 run, especially if I tempt fate with the danger zones.

Also, they could scale it so you get waaaaay fewer crowns if you're a Tier3 person on Tier1, etc.

You make a valid point, but they could implement it in a non-game breaking manner.

>.> I just did a tier 1 run

>.> I just did a tier 1 run and a half.
The first time I started from 0 (I have no idea how I ended up with EXACTLY 0 crowns today but w/e). I ended up with 2500+. Didn't have a graveyard or treasure vault but I did have a deconstruction zone to completion (unlocked every possible door and killed every possible gremlin/mecha knight).
I alched a Calibur (so minus 400).

The second half (2100~), I went again until I got a deconstruction zone (depth 5 in this gate; seems like graveyards and treasure vaults aren't liking me this morning). Ended up with 3870 (earned 1770).

Anywho, if they scaled it so you got way fewer crowns for working in Tier 1, then wouldn't that also feel like a waste of energy (original point)? Energy is essentially money in this game, mist or crystal.

The original point was

The original point was actually that he had friends who couldn't access Tier2, and he wanted to help them get through Tier1 runs so they didn't haven't to rely on strangers, but he felt he was wasting 10 CE to help out a friend, while he could be doing Tier2 runs and getting double or triple what he would get in a Tier1 run.

So yeh, it'll kind of be a waste of energy, but it'll be less energy wasted....which was the point.

Really?

If you're already beyond T1 content is the 10 energy cost per floor really that detrimental to your play?

cheeserito, how do you only

cheeserito, how do you only make 1k on T1 runs? Do you not pick up crowns or sell mats or break bushes?

Less energy wasted vs less

Less energy wasted vs less crowns (that buy energy) is just about the same thing really. And like I said, they'd be able to run the tier multiple times, let's not forget all of the materials and tokens they'd gain from doing it three times instead of 1.

Actually all I did today was run Tier 1 to see how it goes (though mostly half runs because I wanted graveyards or deconstruction zones in Emerald Pawn gate, which means quitting after Depth 5). All in all I can't tell you how much I earned but I bought at least 5 2 star recipes, I bought a tempered calibur recipe, alched a crytoech altimer, and I have a semi embarrassing amount of brimstone, etc etc. Working with random players

I had too much fun doing that really.

I run with Cheeserito, and we

I run with Cheeserito, and we pick up everything. But I'm guessing it's split between the party members, not "Everyone gets a copy of each crown" like with Tokens or Crystals, since we did T1 solo side by side and came out with about 2800

"Crowns can be found down in the Clockworks that you reach by taking the gate elevators. While adventuring, you will find crowns on the levels, as well as crowns dropped by killing monsters. You pick up crowns by walking near them. If there is more than one knight in your party, all the knights will receive the same number of coins. There are five different denominations of crowns: "

If its a lie, the developers said it.
