Repeated end of file error

Alright, I have made a topic on this before, but...this seems to be just getting ridiculous. With every update I have this stupid end of file error, and I'd use nicer language (and yes, I know Stupid isn't that bad), but its incredibly frustrating when the patcher refuses to work for seemingly no particular reason. Now, the game seems to be refusing to download for some reason and I can't even get to the patching section. I was linked back to another topic that said copy-pasting some files over the ones I had would fix it, and it did not...any help at this point would greatly, greatly be appreciated, even a link to the files of the latest patch so I can simply manually patch it myself.

It's your internet service provider's fault. Something about their setup is wrong, and won't let you grab the files correctly.

I know it sucks, but you're going to have to go over to the other thread and try grabbing the new files. Those got updated TODAY. You probably had files that were a couple of days old.

What is the version number listed in your version.txt?

20110914145055 is the number in that file, but I'm not sure what it means exactly >.> and, heh, I kinda guessed that it was a bit to early for manual patches, but still...'s just really frustrating that this seems to be continually happening no matter what I do.

ISPs will often run transparent proxy servers to accelerate web traffic. In the case of HTML and text, they can compress the stream on the fly to save bandwidth, but they can't do the same to binary files since they don't follow a specific pattern.

Because Getdown uses basic HTTP to get files, traffic is routed through the proxy and scanned. When it identifies the stream of text, it attempts to compress it and ends up corrupting the steam so the client can no longer recognize it. The issue is specific to certain ISPs & regions, and it can be worked around by routing it through a different proxy or network.

Unfortunately, in order to fix the problem, OOO needs to find out what setting is causing the conflict and see if theres a way for the patch server to detect it, and enforce what settings to use when it does. The problem with that is the ISPs will need to divulge information about their network, or they would need to make an exception to the IP space SK is running in. Not an easy task considering how small scale SK is (which = low rate of complaints), and how many ISPs that would need to be contacted to figure this out.
