I have just a question about how uniqe variants are chosen?

Do you have a higher chance if the item you upgrade is higher level?

Also can low star weapons/armors... get the same uniqe variants as the high star?

I've gotten a handful of High

I've gotten a handful of High bonuses on 2-star gear and some rubbish bonuses on my final craft. There really doesn't appear to be higher level weapon to better bonus correlation.

Dumb Luck

I do much low level farming to get sparks fast to buy mats from vendor Brinks. This means I take in under-leveled weapons and gear to craft 3 and 4 star stuff. My dumb luck has been forgetting to unequip things in the extra weapon slots and getting them to level 10. The 2 and 3 star weapons that I have inadvertantly leveled to 10 have had a higher UV rate. I particularly like the UVs that add additions like slime damage to piercing weapons (both guns and swords). I have also had a few moderate attack speed UVs. My friend doesn't max out levels on his gear before crafting. He hasn't had a single UV. He loves Jelly King, so I gave him a Hunting Blade with slime damage UV. He's a happy camper. I just think it's dumb luck that I've been fortunate with UVs.
