So how has Tier 3 been?

Tier 3 has changed a lot since I'd seen it in the Preview, that's for sure. Normally my guild and I could charge in with our 4* equipment and dominate all the way to the core, but now things are way harder. Hostile Mecha Knights shoot out bullets with their charge attack, Greavers shoot out bullets with every attack they do while they chase you, the Darkfang Gremlins and 5-bullet spread Gun Puppies are as infuriating as ever...

...And that's about all I discovered before kicking the bucket on the second Tier 3 depth, having been murdered by Beryl Greavers in the Arena. It wasn't so much their bullets at it was their ability to give you a status effect by simply touching them for long enough.

So I'm just curious: how have you people been handling the new Tier 3? Are you getting along fine with your 4* equipment upon unlocking Tier 3? Are you waiting to fully heat your equipment before delving into the depths? Are you waiting for some brave adventurer to fish out a 5* recipe for you? I'd like to know just how difficult the revamped sub-Emberlight is.

Haven't gotten a chance to test it yet, hopefully I will do okay with my Ash-Tail set and Faust + Wise Owlite. If not I'll go back to farming Royal Jelly to get money and enough tokens to get Antigua.

I've been through a bit. I can't get past depth 25 solo, but it's not THAT bad. Puppies no longer track when they're charging their attack, and they shoot the spreads staggered. I daresay they're actually slightly EASIER to me. The gremlin healers are mega-annoying though. Sheilding themselves, making heal zones, rezzing...massively irritating. I was able to solo down there enough times to get my divine avenger, so it's not too bad.

You MUST be careful however. Everything hits like a truck attached to a more sizable truck...therefore gettting hit is really not an option. My reccomendation is to have your shield up pretty much whenever you're not attacking and are in combat. This way even with lag you'll block, and you NEED to block.

I had all but two of my equips at full heat, but that's mainly becuase I got them so slowly. You just need to be super-careful in T3, and it's not so bad at all. Until deconstruction zones. Dealing with like 15+ gremlins simultaneously is pretty tough. I've done it...but it takes a LONG time.

Sparta

I strolled down t3 thinking the same things you did..boy was I in for a rude awakening. All the monsters are hyper-aggressive, leaving little or almost no room for counter attacks. Try fighting a fully fused, spiky leech at depth 26+.

I got down to floor 26 with a party and we got utterly destroyed by ice robot knights so we gave up. It's quite a jump difficulty wise, but we barely got any heat. This was in all 4* gear, haven't had a chance to try it solo yet.

I really need to get a 5-star

I really need to get a 5-star shield but other than that I'm slowly getting the feel when solo-ing. I just got my Khorovod and that has really helped things with just doing more damage, usually I'll heard the monsters so they all get knocked away from me before they do an attack. Or I just strafe around with a Shadow Driver or Mega Magnus. I'm pretty good at playing Wolver-wack-a-mole now.

Just Soloed my self to the block in the bottom. Took lots of time to do, but was rewarding. Patience and good pattern of reflex blocks is the right way for happiness. Also, I wonder if monsters are harder when in group, I literally didn't die once in levels 26-27, but at tier 2, with friends. I died all the time.

Monsters ARE more difficult in a group.

Well I do know for a fact that the more people you have in your party, the more HP the enemies have. I think it's a 50% increase? Not entirely sure though. Going below Emberlight with a party really emphasizes teamwork.

Oh yeah, T3 is nothing in Heat compared to Jelly King runs.

T3 is nothing in Heat compared to Jelly King runs. JK runs are all I did for my 5* set, and they are all I will be doing until the heat in T3 is increased (which would be a nice balance, if you ask me).

T3 IS tough. I made it to the core with one other guildmate and it wasn't TOO bad as long as I maintained a patient, conservative approach. Still, every hit I sustained really, really hurt. Half a bar of HP in some cases. And since that successful run - which as many have pointed out really wasn't worth it in terms of heat or crowns - subsequent visits have led me in to maps that are just not worth fighting in. Too much risk for too little reward. I run right through these levels and ignore all of the monsters that I can.

Definitely needs to be adjusted.

I think the crown and heat

I think the crown and heat needs to be raised for tier 3. I finished a whole run once and even though all dungeons are different, I gained less heat and crowns than doing tier 2 runs on an average. I don't really see the point in doing tier 3 unless you need the materials.

Uh?

I got invited to play some tier 3 with 3* gear. Took me a while to do any serious damage, but we got to the core eventually. Thankfully status effects deal the same damage weather you have a 1* or 5* weapon.
It's not really too different from the last days of the preview, I think there were other times during rebalancing when T3 was harder than this.

My only problem was that the heat was horrible, and crowns could have been better.

Disappointment.

Unless you're running for recipes or doing firestorm, magnus is right, there's no reason to do T3 instead of jelly palace. Unless you like dealing with darkfangs for no benefit. It actually seems like the first subtier of t3 gives less than all of t2.

I've made it to the core at least a dozen times since release, and between the core being unfinished and the heat and crowns being so awful, it's a real disappointment.

Surprisingly easy

I found Tier 3 really, really easy, as interesting as it might sound. My very first run down there, with half-leveled four-star equipment, was a breeze until the horrifying combo of firestream turrets and oil-coated slimes on a depth 28 arena. Second run right after the first one? Did not die once, got straight to the Core. Of course, I suppose I got fairly lucky with the enemies, but still - a fresh Tier 3 player should not be able to finish the whole place that quick.

The crowns and heat are meh, but it's not like you should even care much for crown drops when you can sell the materials you get for several times more money. The materials, however... I kinda like the amount they're dropped, you get enough to make some money, but not enough to make the four- and five-stars of low value.

I'd say the difficulty should increase more steeply. Tier 3 being quite long, I think it could be roughly divided into two (gradually changing) sections: The easier upper part, which would be somewhat difficult but bearable for anyone with Tier 3 equipment, and the painful lower part, which would basically block most entrance to the Core area - but it would reward you far more greatly. This would make Tier 3 playable for everyone who can access it, but still a challenge for those who need it.

EDIT: I'd like to add that - although my image of what this game should be might differ from what the Devs think - in my opinion the Core should be truly difficult to reach. After all, the Core not being much of an end-game achievement now, what's left are the very few bosses. What is more, the Core would be an excellent dream - everyone knows it, but only very few should reach it, making it more of an elusive, mythical piece rather than an everyday place to visit. Then again, I found Tier 3 quite easy, unlike many, so I'm sure I will be disagreed with.

I found it rather reasonable (Have yet to encounter homing rockets) with just 2 players and even 1! I only ventured to the Terminal with a friend then did one level by my self.

Eh

Less Heat somewhat average crowns....Jelly King is worth more in my view lol....I been able to do T3 for a long-time, but honestly do a few t3 runs since its really not worth the time in my view....the drops are worth it in a sense, but....heat blows.....recipes (well personally, not buying any 5* recipes yet till market goes up why you ask? I have way too many recipes to buy why waste 20k Ce on a horrible market and end up crashing the market....)
