Give Hard Numbers On Equipment Stats

The current interface for equipment stats gives a general idea of how strong an item is at a glance, but it would be greatly improved if we were given actual numbers to go along with it. A few of the main reasons are:

A) Numbers are much easier to compare at a glance than bars.
B) Numbers make it possible to easily categorize items in the wiki and other out of game resources based on stats.

I think the best way to go about it would be to place the stats on the left side of the bar, in a similar way that the labels for the bars are implemented. Like this:

At the very least, we should

At the very least, we should get an arrow during comparison telling us which is higher. Having to count the number of bars (and they might not be to scale, too!) is really annoying.

No numbers

I can understand and appreciate Three Ring's aversion to numbers but I have to chime in agreement with the dislike of the bar measurement. Occasionally I'll count the number of bars when I talk about the amount of value an item has before realizing that no one has any idea what I'm talking about because no one bothers to count. Instead it becomes something like "My armor gives elemental defense almost upto the second e in the word elemental" which somehow is MUCH less confusing to others than counting the bars.

But yeah, an easier to read replacement would be ideal. I'd even settle for like stars or something. They could be partially filled, but as long as I can eyeball how many there are instead of going "1 2 3... *squints* 4... 5... mother scupperer, did I count that one yet? Mast booty! *starts over*"

I'd love an actual bar count

I'd love an actual bar count here. It's amusing, but my trouble with the bars is always: "that first bar, the little one, is it like half a bar, or is it a full bar and part of it is covered by the icon?"

Full bar

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a full bar. In my ever so humble opinion, I think it would be incredibly stupid for them to start a count at half a number and I like to give Three Rings the benefit of a doubt.

Yeah I'm in favor of this,

Yeah I'm in favor of this, real numbers would be much easier to distinguish.

Second. At least make it an

Second.

At least make it an option. These bars are unreliable.

The problem

My only problem with bars is that they are not properly scaled.

A completely maxed bar doesn't mean the armor has the highest defense in the game, just that it has high defense. Comparing Ancient Plate Mail with another thing with a lot of def illustrates this properly I think.

Meh

I love the bars, makes the game more casual.

Keep the bars, but with proper scaling and maybe with some lines on the bar so you can get your numbers from them too if you want.

I'm voting in favor of "give

I'm voting in favor of "give us real numbers not make believe statistics".

I want my equipment decisions to be made based on actual math, not "this might maybe be a little bit better but I'm not sure" coming from my equipment menu.

At the very least, please

At the very least, please make this into a toggleable option. I understand the need to make the game user-friendly with pretty colors and bars, but this really ruins it for people playing the game hardcore and cannot accurately mix and match gear to their fullest potential. Leaving it off as default wouldn't change a thing for the populace, and having the option to turn it on would be downright wonderful for many players.

Hmmm......

Its so confusing to see just bars....I think my 2 star weapon would do less than my 0 star weapon.......then i see it in action. They should do this:
Make so that when you select the item, say a weapon, you see the combo under the description. for a sword, it would be: X-X-Y since first 2 hits tend to be the same and if it has some bonus (more damage to enemy types or gains benefit such as fencer's jacket), you see it. Wouldnt know if it would work, though
