Dear Spiral knights,

Since the update of april 7th I'm having a major problem with my FPS. My computer is very old and really needs to be replaced, but right now I simply don't got the money for that so I'm stuck with it for some more time. What makes me feel bad is the fact that I could smoothly run Spiral Knights before the update of april 7th and I'm really dying to know if there is any way to fix the problem and make it run faster again.
So far I don't know how to customize the graphics but to put it on low-detail, but I don't see any difference by eye at all..
I've already tried to download Java 64-bit, but this didn't solve my problem.

Every possible sulution is very welcome.

My computers specs:

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Computer:
Intel (R)
Prentium (R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz

Videocard:
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

I think this is related to

I think this is related to the skybox update. Before on lowest settings the skybox would just be black, now it's a static image similar to what you see on the higher settings.

If you haven't already you should go to the Advanced options and toggle Compatibility Mode on.

I didn't even think an Intel 845 integrated graphics would run this at all.

Thanks

Thank you for your comment,

I already play with Compatibility mode on. It makes it run a little bit more smooth, but unfortunately does not fix the whole problem.
For me it's a surprise that my computer can run this game at all. So far I were only able to play games such as Rakion, Maplestory and Runescape and even those were laggy ;p

I'll just hope for more graphical customisation then.. :(

Thanks anyways.

fps problem

I'm having the same thing, though I haven't plkayed since before april 7th, so I've been having FPS issues the whole time. Everything runs fine, 'til I'm less then half way in a dungeon, then the FPS goes and gets crazy, even though the strength o the internet connection is still at 3-4 bars. I turned off to only play with English people just so I can see if maybe it was another person in a diff. country lagging, but it's not. My pc can run Modern Warfare pretty smoothly, so I'd think I'd be able to play this game just fine. But, It's on low graphic settings to try fixing this. :\ Does nothing at all. Just every ten minutes, I'll lag, then hopefully within 10-20 minutes, it'll stop again, and everything looks smooth and nice.

I didn't think YOU were the doctor around here, but sure. I'll post my PC specs. :p Anyways, there's enough threads discussing this problem, so why not add-on to the person basically having the same problem?
Windows 7 64bit
3.80gb ram(For the video card, which is a geforce 9100)
8gb ram
1tb memory
I'm running a pretty alright computer, though the on-board video seems to be a little lacking, since it's on-board and all.
Is that enough of a comp spec for you?
