Pay by mobile rates

I'm feeling a bit cheated by the rates of the "pay by mobile" section:
1 euro = 1.44 US dollar at the moment,
so let's make it 1.3 to be fair

When I scroll through the different countries and look at the available packages. I feel cheated:

united states : 612 for 2 dollar : 306 per dollar, 397 per euro
netherlands : 265 for 1.50 euro :135 per dollar, 176 per euro

ehm... ok, I guess they have better deals with providers in the US...

Germany: 443 for 1.49 euro : 227 per dollar, 295 per euro
Belgium: 203 for 2 euro: 1.55 per dollar, 201 per euro
UK: 673 for 2 pound: that's almost 300 per euro

Where are these prices coming from? Why do they differ this much?

Math it out

It has nothing to do with deals with providers. It has everything to due with the value of the dollar, right now the value of the dollar is crap, and as Three Ring Design is an American company, they use American currency as the basis for their pricing structure. So from an american's point of view it looks like they're getting more, they aren't, as it all translates back into US Dollars in the end. So, in an effort to wrap this up without getting banned for discussing politics, if you want to complain, write your congress(wo)man.

At

At least it's not Argentina.
42 energy for 1.25 dollars (5 pesos), lol.

Also, it has nothing to do with the monetary conversion, but with taxes and companies that run the different services. Three rings gets a cut, the company they hire for the service gets a cut, the country telephone companies get a cut, then there's taxes, etc.
