They could be like the colbalt theme, but no peircing defense, and either grand +2 hp (guardian), damage bonus low (recon), or movement bonus low (striker). Also, the striker should have a proto sheild shaped dohicky added onto the side.
PVP sheild variants in PVE
The coins never occoured to me, good call. They're more for show though, the bonuses are supposed to be low. They also should each have a low specific weapon penalty, like in PVP
whoa whoa whoa for lockdown they work but for pve i can't see it working out
guardians: near impenetrable defense and healing (especially in groups)
recons: hit and run tactics (monster AI is dumb enough as it is)
strikers: weeeeeeeeeeeeeee spike team
The way I see them isn't as literal translations of the LD versions, but adapted variants for PvE. The Striker set, for examples, could carry the extant sword damage bonus and a speed boost comparable to, say, the Quicksilver gear, maybe maintaining the LD debuffs for balance. You obviously can't have healing gear in PvE, and the Guardian's all-round damage resistance is ridiculous, but you could have a highly defensive shield with balancing debuffs.
Either that or just have them as costume items; the LD class gear does look cool as hell.
Anyhow.
There is already a +2 health shield out there; Scarlet Shield.
I do like the idea, but doesn't Recon give CTR? Striker is the one with damage bonus (for swords, but we already have a shield for that as well).
If all else fails, root for costume gear.
Guardian looks TANK! Me wanty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"whoa whoa whoa for lockdown they work but for pve i can't see it working out"
They just function like normal sheilds. No turning invisible, or moving super fast. Lemmie write the stat's down:
All have the same defense as the colbalt set sheild, but without the peircing defense;
Guardian;
Gun ASD; low
Health bonus; +2 (give or take)
Recon;
Sword ASD; low
Damage bonus; low
Striker;
Bomb CTI; low
Movement speed increase; low
Plus, like Valkyrie said, costumes for the armor prehaps. We have more head costumes than body ones by far. They could match the spiral bombhead prehaps, and be limited time by using that armor type in PVP.
I like this! There's clearly a demand for Lockdown classes in PvE (even if importing the actual class system would be disastrous), but this is an excellent compromise - make Guardian, Striker and Recon armour set lines instead. Having them purchased with Krogmo Coins would make sense too.
