Something wrong with the driver of my graphics card? Possibly.
It all began that on that fateful day. The day I found SK downloading the newest patch on my computer. The day when I finally got to play Lockdown.
15th of September to be exact.
As SK had finally finished patching, I happily began to play the newly released PvP mode. Even though I was extremely inexperienced and I barely knew what to do, I still found it incredibly fun to play.
The second time I tried it out, my screen suddenly froze in the middle of the game. I waited and I waited. In the end I had no choice but to close the program after my screen decided to have a seizure (screen flickering to black) and after I got a message saying that my display driver had stopped responding.
Same thing happened to the third time.
To summarize what happened afterwards: At some point, my screen resolution suddenly changed to 640 x 480 4bit. I tried to update my driver (failed to install for some reason). Tried a clean installation which didn't work as well, leaving me with no driver at all. Not a single solution I found on the internet had worked.
In the end when I realised that I had screwed everything up I decided to perform a system restore, reverting it back to an earlier date. Windows automatically installed a display driver and now everything is back to normal. Well, sort off.
But I can't play Spiral Knights any more.
Is there anyone who knows how to fix this or has a similar problem like this? I'm pretty desperate right now.
(Also, I use Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS, driver version 268.45)
That is looking like some textures/background image files got messed up and didn't validate.
You'll have to try a full uninstall/reinstall of Spiral Knights.
I don't know what the rest of your problems are, but they do sound like they could be the result of faulty drivers.
