About how much normal damage is in tier 3? I'm pretty sure the answer is "a lot still" but I guess I'm looking for the amount per fiend, beast, undead, and construct?
Thanks!

In Tier 3, Fiends and Undeads (including ghosts) do full Shadow damage, Beasts and Jellies do full Piercing, and Constructs do mostly Elemental damage (Retrodes and Mechas with elemental swords). The big hulking tree things inflict elemental damage as well. Gun Puppies inflict different kinds of damage, but I've never seen one that inflicts Normal damage.
The ones that inflict Normal damage are non-elemental Mechas, Gremlins, Trojans, POSSIBLY unstable cubes, and that's really all I can think of. I want to say Vanaduke inflicts normal damage on a charge/mace hit, but I think it's elemental.
So yeah, for the most part, Normal Damage is great in T1 and T2, but takes a backseat in T3 and Piercing/Shadow/Elemental damage take priority.
I thought I read somewhere there was still normal from fiends and what not.
Thanks a lot for the quick replies! Trying to create a suit to protect from piercing. Any recommendations?
What monkeyman said; Skolvet set. Gives full Piercing defense, ice resistance (which DOES help, despite what others will tell you), and boosts sword damage. I wear a full Skolver set with an Elite Slash trinket and my sword damage is at maximum.
Also, no, Fiends can inflict different status effects depending on the Stratum loadout, but they inflict 100% Shadow damage on the actual attack.
What about skolver and dragon scale? Or a virulisk suit and skolver?
All melee attacks from enemies, regardless of Tier, inflict Normal damage.
Bullet and other projectile-based attacks do 100% special damage, however.
Dragon scale would be okay for FSC, but Vog Cub would fit that bill better.
Virulisk is a no from me. Poison resistance just isn't worth it.
I have gear for FSC, I'm talking specifically about a suit for beast/jellies :)
Very early on it was determined that the slag walkers of fsc were doing about as much to people with normal/elemental armor as people in shadow/not normal gear, which means their damage is split between shadow and normal damage and not pure shadow damage despite being undead in t3. And I can say from personal experience my drake scale shield seems to take about the same wear and tear from t3 wolver and jelly melee attacks as my grey owlite shield so they can't be pure piercing either. It's also fairly impossible to find out the exact split between damages because of the ambiguity of item stat bars and health loss being counted by the pip and not a discernible exact hp value.

Based on Spiral Knights Wiki, this isn't correct. However, I think you're right, and the wiki needs to be modified so that this fact is clearer.
Here's a list of all things that deal at least a portion of Normal damage:
Brambles
Blast Cube series
All Gremlins
Any non-status inflicting Lichen
All Mecha Knights
All Retrodes
Royal Minis and Jelly Green Minis
All Scuttlebots
Slag Guards
Spiked Wheels
Tortodrones
Trojans
You guys are awesome, thanks! :D
Got one more for that list:
Water cubes. I.E., Ice cubes + fire = Water cubes. Their circle is red, anyway.
It's sort of silly that Gremlins are listed as dealing elemental damage, considering they *all* do normal damage.
if you mean normal damage from monsters then there is none... it's pure special damage (piercing, shadow, elemental)
baring a few exception like trojans and i think bosses
