I have 3 star gears now, and i just realized that choosing the cold iron vanquisher and sentenza for tier 3 is a bad decision.
So... i was thinking of getting Divine Avenger or Dread Venom Striker, and i replaced my blackhawk with Pepperbox before i can get pulsar. any suggestion or tip?

damage, damage, damage
Like most questions in the Arsenal forum, this one could be helped through a basic understanding of how damage works. Read the Damage article on the wiki. Ideally, you would be attacking each monster with the damage that it's vulnerable to. If you can't do that, then you'd like to inflict the damage that it's neutral to (including normal). You definitely don't want to inflict the damage that it resists.
So if you can carry all three non-normal damage types (piercing, elemental, shadow) that's great. If you can carry two of the three, then that's fine (huge damage to 4/6 of monsters, moderate damage to the other 2/6). Or use normal weapons, and inflict moderate damage on 6/6 of monsters. Above all, avoid carrying just one non-normal damage type. That's what you'd have with DA + Polaris --- all elemental. It would make your fights against gremlins and beasts very difficult.
Blackhawk/Sentenza may be good for PvP (it was okay but not great when I tried it), but otherwise it's not a great gun, due to the split damage type. Polaris is generally preferred over Sentenza.
DVS is great against the Jelly King. And all Cutter-line swords are fun, just because they're so fast. But in general it is not a very good sword, because you have to get right up in the monster's face.

the DA is good on constructs and undead, and really useful in the fsc since everything down there is undead. u can also use it to do thinks that other swords cant, like destroy the rollers in the first citadel map, or destroy they blocks so ur team can heal before the last wave of monsters before vana. other than that i never use mine.
the dread venom striker is good everywhere since it does normal damage, but its charge is rather useless. not many monsters are going to sit there and let u slash them without retaliating. u cant stop its charge once its in motion unless u die :P. u also cant just go slash happy with it, its tempting with all the speed, but ive seen alot of ppl just get destroyed b/c theyre too trigger crazy.
theyre two completely diff swords, one is mad slow, strong, and has alot of uses in fsc not that amazing anywhere else (just my opinion). the dread venom striker, one of my favorites, is alot weaker but also crazy fast and has that chance to poison.
