Few questions
Has anyone encountered this creature before? I assume it was in the beta, i only started playing on the day it came out.

Also about Lockdown loadouts, when you flick the swords in loadout menu, what does that mean?
Just saw that and didnt see any changes, except it changed into pve instead of pvp.
Know what it stands for, only whats the purpose?
I know theyre not anymore, just wandering if they were in beta :P
ah ok, still trying to figure out its usefulness, ok having pvp on seems to be a little less time consuming while in lockdown.
Thx for the info.
I think the usefulness of the PvP vs PvE loadouts is as follows:
If you have many loadouts marked for PvP, the highest tier loadout determines what tier lockdown you are put into. So, say you have lots of tier 3 loadouts but want to do tier 2 lockdown. Instead of deleting all your precious loadouts, you can mark the tier 3 loadouts as PvE, making the tier 2 loadout your highest ranked and therefore place into tier 2 lockdown.
This also insures that if you go into tier 2 lockdown you don't switch to a tier 3 loadout and easily throw off the game balance.
I believe this is how it works and hope this helps.
Ok thx for that, for some reason one of my loadouts says pve t1, and pvp t3.
Now i have 5* but no shield equipped of course (since its lockdown and it takes it off).
The T1 PvE, T3 PvP problem might be caused by one or two overpowered pieces of equipment. I've seen countless people in T3 with a good weapon but really terrible armor. My suggestion is to try to even out your equipment in each loadout.
Wow that doesnt make sense, my pvp says t3 though.
Seems that i have everything equipped, not sure why i should nerf my equipment...
Also i wanted to try t2 and equipped only t2-3 and it says pvp t2, still i can only create t3 guild fights.
Not sure what to do with this.
Wait what is the t2 option then ?
To join T2 games, you have to make sure that only one of your loadouts is flagged PVP with maximum 3* equipment. Even one piece above 3* will only make you eligible for T3 games.
The discrepancy makes sense. PvE requires that ALL your equipment be a certain level before it gives you access to the next tier. I.e. if you have all 5* gear except only a 1* helm, you can't gain access to T2 or T3 normally, so that would be a T1 set for PvE.
But for PvP, it works the other way. Any single 5* item will put you in T3, which makes sense, since a player with all 5* gear except one 1* helm would totally pwn T1 PvP matches, and defeat the purpose.
I have everything 3* and the bar says im still t2.
Dont have any trinkets or anything equipped, still i can only join t3.
I dont get it. It's flagged as pvp
How to get into T2 (T1) matches, the simple version:
Step 1: Create a set of loadouts containing no items higher than 3* (1*). Mark any other loadouts as PvE. Do not include higher rated items as costume pieces as there's a bug that will sometimes glitch you into higher tier matches, and costumes usually don't show up anyway. Also do not include a higher rated shield, as it's still counted towards your PvP tier even though it isn't used in the game.
Step 2: Equip one of these PvP loadouts.
Step 3: Don't enter guild matches, as apparently they're T3 only. Go for a random team game.
If you're still having trouble after all that, I'd suggest filing a bug report.
Ah it worked thank you :)
tortodrones were removed from beta they can't be encountered for now
"flick the swords"? to you mean click the icon of two swords? if so it opens the load out menu where you can set up multiple sets of equipment and equip any combination of equipment u want http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Loadout
PvP
When a Loadout is flagged for PvP, it is usually used for a quick change in Lockdown games. What this means is, while inside of a base during Lockdown, you can quickly change into a different set of gear, to be more appropriately prepared for the battle.
PvE
When a Loadout is flagged for PvE, it can not be used during Lockdown. It can only be changed while at Haven, or Terminals/Subtowns in the clockworks. It can be used for a quick switch, if you don't want to waste any time, during clockworks runs.
