Why would you make a skill based game...then immediately make swords so powerful that they remove 90% of the skill from the game????

The good news: OOO has a good track record of fixing things that are absolutely broken, such as t3 sword damage.

Skill needed in t3 Lockdown:

Skill to avoid attacks
Skill to know which weapons will be useful (done)
Skill to know which armor is useful (known not used in every game. hint: Vog and Skolver are only 2 of them)
Skill to predict where enemies are and strike accordingly
Skill to be able to time attacks correctly
Skill of hand eye co-ordination
Skill of good sportsmanship (a bit lacking at the moment)
Skill to try out new equips
Skill to introduce other weapons to be 'top-class'
Skill to avoid swords
Skill to avoid obvious bombs
Skill to have put time into the game and like it
Skill to know where invisible enemies may be
Skill to widely attack said enemies
Skill to create strategies
Skill of teamwork
Skill to defeat opponents quickly

And now...
Needs that claim to be 'fixed'
Overpower of swords
Overpower of Vog and Skolver

Actual fixes needed
Peircing weapons hitting before animation

Ever notice that the 'overpowered' swords are the one that people use in dungeon runs BECAUSE of their brute force to destroy enemies?
Ever wonder why people say they are too strong?

PvP was described as "the monsters from the Clockworks can watch knights fight it out for a change."
They're making us the monsters in PvP and showing their pain that we dont care about since they RESPAWN.

Conspiracy?

Sorry to say but its just average rage on forums that happens after EVERY UPDATE

I think Three Rings deserves some credit for trying to make us happy with new content.

What many call broken, others call another-day-of-average-complaints-due-to-an-arguable-feature.

...waiting patiently for my 'Skills needed list' to get flamed

I'm going to choose Striker

I'm going to choose Striker where I have insane mobility at the cost of health and then complain about it when I die! Not because I chose Striker with dat -3 health penalty, but because it's imba! Don't worry I think Scouts in TF2 should have as much health as heavys. I mean wtf! They die in one or two rockets. Imba plz. Same reason why people play LoL and complain how OP DotA/HoN is. Why bother having teamwork, or game sense when I can just tank up and still do insane amount of DPS!

Good thing these stupid noob don't realize how important bombs are in this game yet. It'd be pretty annoying seeing a Voltaic/Shivermist user in every game

uh-huh

it would be naive to think this is actually functioning 100% as intended when it is this imbalanced. It would simply be poor design. Imbalance=poor design. You might not like it, but that is the truth of the matter. Poor design=the higher the tier, the less a game of skill it becomes, and the more a game of chance it becomes.

I don't think it suffers from poor design, i think it is just unfinished and will be balanced thru patch(es).

@ Xylka, i'm not going to flame your skills needed. My point is that as u move from t2 to t3, those skills become dramatically less valuable because weapon damage so greatly outpaces defense. Skill will take you less far, and chance becomes more important. And i'm glad i'm not the only one who has noticed the issue with piercing swords doing damage prior to their animation :/

A fantastic point

This is quoting Overdingle from another thread, but it's right on the money.

"Why do I get the feeling that armor health bonuses were balanced around the idea that players tend to carry vitapods in the clockworks?"

its not only that

its not only that jeburk....

Its that the monsters in the clockworks have a lot more hit points than we do. The weapons are designed to kill monsters, not knights. Using most 5-star weapons against knights is like using a sledgehammer to put a tack in a wall -- its overkill.
