Spoiler alert for those of you who haven't read the top comic yet:
http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/jre4g/click_this_link_scroll...

I regularly read (and enjoy) most of the comics you've posted.

Wooo Romantically Apocalyptic! I love the Captain.

VG Cats: Rasoomair barely updates anymore. Some of his more recent comics seem to be lacking more soul and effort too, especially when it comes to background... but I admit I do generally enjoy the comics and I pop in there from time to time.

I'm gonna put in a recommendation for Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. A few of the comics are heavy-handed and just not funny, but with a daily update schedule, gems like these aren't a rarity.

I can't believe I forgot SMBC. My favorite so far is the Trojan Horse comic they did.

http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db=comics&id=2271#comic

Let's be honest, it's true.

VG cats has kind of slid to the back burner for me as the updates are way too sparse.

------------------------------

I'm attempting to find this other comic I thoroughly enjoyed. It was about the young thief heiress to a thief king. She was spunky and had a tail. Her main traveling companion was an undead slave combatant who was a former military combat mage. I believe the main plot was that she had to strike off on her own and make a grand discovery of treasure to inherit the role of leader.

I wish I could find it and it's irritating that it so eludes me.

------------------------------

In the vein of post apocalyptic comics. Because if you like Romantically apocalyptic then there must be something close to that.

Damn you (alternatively fudge you) fallout series for making me interested in post apocalyptic things.

http://www.blastwave-comic.com/index.php?p=comic&nro=1

------------------------------

As for another comic I had forgotten to mention. Boxer hockey.

http://boxerhockey.fireball20xl.com/?id=179

Enjoy.

Do note that they don't treat frogs well in this series. In case you like frogs. If you're frog impartial read on. Also clothes impartial. It's complicated.

D'oh, I forgot to mention a

D'oh, I forgot to mention a few more others too.

http://www.meetmyminion.com/?p=363
The Lydian Option. A beautiful science fiction comic about humans in space jail. Yeah the characters are a bit of stock archetypes, with no real reason (yet) to get attached to any of them, but once you learn what the Lydian Option is, and the situation everyone is left in, you can't help but continue reading. That and the comic is drop-dead gorgeous. The site has a bunch of other comics too, but I think this one is the real highlight. But there is one other thing I have to mention, and it won't matter to the vast majority of you--the characters of the Tha'latta language seem to be inspired heavily by Chinese characters and katakana. If you're familiar with either of those two writing systems you'll be reading things that haven't actually been written. The number 6 man. If freaking everywhere. But don't worry, the guy gets a translator pretty soon.

http://carpechaos.com/
Carpe Chaos, science fiction. Not a comic but a hub for a bunch of comics, all set in the same universe. They're all done by different artists, but the quality and level of consistency is astounding and borderline obsessive. My favourite one so far is Jailing Fortune. It's like buddy cop, except they're escaped convicts, and aliens. And one of them is willing to eat the other guy's species. The two are also strangely endearing.

http://smbhax.com/
Supermassive Black Hole A*. Another science fiction comic brimming with style. It's black and white, and I guess you can call it neo noir. Either way it's really cool. I can't really say much else about the comic though, having just started it.

http://trenchescomic.com/
The Trenches. If you're familiar with Penny Arcade or PvP, you probably already know this one; the three creators are all collaborating on this. For those of you who don't, it's a very new webcomic about working in the game industry, though it starts out with the guy trying to get a job in the game industry. Even if you're not particularly interested in the comic, the site is already worth checking into regularly just to read the Tales from the Trenches, user-submitted horror stories of the game industry.

On the subject of Korean webcomics:

Ok-su Station Ghost. Another webcomic posted on Naver. It's in English too, and apparently so is the earlier posted Bongcheon-Dong Ghost. Being able to read the text doesn't make this one less scarier, lol.

Lackadaisy

Lackadaisy Cats
http://www.lackadaisycats.com/
A comic about running a booze bootlegging operation during prohibition-era St. Lious. The characters are incredibly well-written and the story is compelling, but it all pales in comparison to the beautifully rendered, sepia-toned artwork this comic is drawn in. The main characters are also all (if the title didn't give it away yet) anthropomorphized cats, but if you let that stop you, you're quite frankly missing out.

The Meek
http://www.meekcomic.com/
Beautifully drawn and -colored, this comic is about a young girl who is sent out on a quest to save the world. The story is right now still in it's introductory phase, introducing the reader to the people (and Gods) residing in this world, and the mounting political unrest that centers the plot. Slightly NWS-ish for the first chapter.

Gunnerkrigg Court
http://gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php
This comic has been endorsed by Neil Gaiman, but if that's not reason enough here's a short description:
It takes place in a Hogwarts-like learning institution called (get this) Gunnerkrigg Court, and the story follows the adventures of a girl called Annie Carver and her best friend, Kat Donlan. The high-tech institution that is Gunnerkrigg Court is built right next to a mystical forest, and the rising tension between these two worlds are the driving force between the main plot. The world Gunnerkrigg takes place in is elaborate and ever-expanding, and the artwork is very well done as well.

Oglaf (NWS)
http://oglaf.com/
A well-drawn webcomic with a good sense of humor, if you can stand cartoon nudity and [sexytimes] of all kinds.
It's a comic about the adventures of an apprentice named Ivan who, as he puts it, has "constantly sex having done to him". There are off-shoot jokes and sub-storylines in-between the main story that expand on the universe Oglaf takes place in. It is also not worksafe, did I mention that already?

The Abominable Charles Christopher
http://www.abominable.cc/
A tale of a sasquatch who doesn't talk much. He's on a journey to save his friends' life, and although he's not aware of this yet, the entire forest and all of its inhabitants. A beautifully rendered grayscale webcomic.

Hark! A vagrant
http://harkavagrant.com/
Historical comedy and clever observations, drawn in a whimsical style.

Hobo Lobo
http://hobolobo.net/
This comic has only recently started out, so there's not much to say about the story itself yet. But what really sets this comic apart from others is how it makes use of the web as a medium.

NWS? That's the first time

NWS? That's the first time I've seen that acronym. I'm more used to seeing NSFW... Oh well.

I wonder if Oglaf is the comic stupysays couldn't mention. I don't know how popular it is, but man, it really is one of my favourite comics. One of my favourite aspects of the comic, which hasn't been mentioned yet, are all references to mythology and folklore (they're both SFW, don't worry) and the irreverent attitude it takes towards them. Also this. The archive shows which comics are generally safe and which aren't, by the way.

This is entertaining to refresh too.

Very well good chaps

@Dogrock-

I freaking love Dr.Mcninja. Any child capable of growing a mustache from pure willpower deserves it.

@Globosa -

Actually yes, Oglaf as well as this gem which is NSFW the vast majority of the time.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.menagea3.net/strips-ma3/room_for_two_more_%28vol1%29 <---NSFW

Poor Gary, he can't catch a break. Ever.

---------------------------------------------------

And since we've had a healthy contributing force to the thread I decided to add more comics I generally read. It might be a bit lengthy.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.girlswithslingshots.com/comic/gws1/

Ever drink so much you see a Scottish cactus that wears a sombrero and is named McPedro? Neither have I but apparently it exists here.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.awkwardzombie.com/index.php?page=0&comic=092006

Because honestly the vast majority of you should know Katie Tiedrich so I preach to the choir. But there may be a few who do not know of her.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.virtualshackles.com/1 <--- OOO staff Please read this. Must read.

A webcomic about game developers. If certain game developers we know can't enjoy this then who can.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.plasticbrickautomaton.com/?id=1

Because if enough people clamor that you should start a webcomic and you do and have become moderately successful then you deserve a mention. Also, funny. So there's that.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.nerfnow.com/comic/4

As dictated before, I like webcomics. I also really like webcomics about videogames. You probably should too.

---------------------------------------------------

http://nonadventures.com/2006/09/09/the-torment-of-a-thousand-yesterdays/

If they took the time to retcon Wonder Woman like this I'd probably spend more of my time reading Wonder Woman comics. As it stands I like Big Barda better in terms of well empowered female characters.

Example: http://i.imgur.com/b6AZa.jpg

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.explosm.net/comics/15/ <-Not exactly in poor taste but may be considered by some.

Almost everyone has probably seen Cyanide and Happiness comics. They're kind of a dark humor gem. If you're into that sort of thing. You freak you.

---------------------------------------------------

http://xkcd.com/1/

At times reading this comic has caused me to realize I should probably continue studying.

---------------------------------------------------

http://dresdencodak.com/archives/

Continuing on the vein of comics that requires me to look things up on occasion is DresdanCodak.

example:
http://dresdencodak.com/2006/12/03/dungeons-and-discourse/

If you managed to read the majority of that story arc and could tell me you even knew what wu wei was you should pursue a doctorate.

---------------------------------------------------

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots.html

Giant in the playground is a very fun to read comic about D&D. Calling the art simple is an understatement. But it makes up for it with fun references and witty humor.

---------------------------------------------------

http://noneedforbushido.com/2002/comic/1/

The artwork is from when they started in 2002, it's decidedly gotten a lot better. Give this one a try at least.

---------------------------------------------------

http://upup-downdown.com/

This page explains in general why I at least peruse this comic on occasion.

---------------------------------------------------

And since I've now probably exhausted everyone's patience with that lengthy list, which I hope you'll all peruse at least a little bit is one of my favorite fantasy comics that's very very well drawn.

http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch01/ch01_01.html

It was the one I had originally been crying about having lost the link for it.

A brief synopsis via television trope:
Rude, loud-mouthed Sette Frummagem has been sent by her Da' to get the jukrum, the cut owed to the Boss-King thief, from her cousin who's "gotten too fancy for his pants." Accompanying her is Duane Adelier, a markedly eloquent Galit who was, uh, persuaded to protect Sette from the dangers of the realm.

Cue problems.

Thanks to everyone who posted links. I bookmarked them all. When insomnia strikes I'll be reading them all. If you have other links do feel free to share them.

Calamities of Nature - http://www.calamitiesofnature.com/about/
"...a comic that focuses on topics of social commentary, science, religion, philosophy, and lots of bacon..." (copypasta, sry...I'm no good with selfmade descriptions). Thoughtful and entertaining, bookmark it!

Yellow Peril - http://ypcomic.com/2010/02/01/good-morning-to-you-too/
"An Asian American Office Romance Comedy Webcomic" from the artist of the first 'Erfworld'-book. Good read. Don't mind if the eff-word pops up once or twice, they have their reasons...

Edmund Finney's Quest to Find the Meaning of Life - http://eqcomics.com/2009/03/08/sunday-aliens/
An uncomplicated straight forward and most of the time bizarre narration spiced with healthy, hilarious humor. One of my personal favs.

Some finished comics Digger,

Some finished comics

Digger, by Ursula Vernon
http://www.diggercomic.com/?p=3
It's about a wombat who only wants one thing: To get back home. Seeing as this story spans over 700 pages, it's obviously not going to be that easy.
I also feel that it's worth mentioning Ursula's other work, as she's a bit of a legend on deviantART (and not only for accidentally creating an internet meme): http://ursulav.deviantart.com/

Balloon comic
http://b1nd1.deviantart.com/gallery/1826601#/d1actau
A short story about a girl who embarks on a journey in a hot air balloon, accompanied by a boy and a crow.

The next three comics are done by Emily Carroll (more of her work can be found here: http://www.emcarroll.com/comic/ )
She writes short horror stories (with the exception being Anu-Alan). Emily has a very distinct way of drawing, that has a bit of a children's book aesthetic to it. The flow of her writing reinforces that feeling. They're not children's stories, though.

Anu-Anulan & Yir's daughter
http://www.emcarroll.com/comics/anu/page01.html
The only one of Emily Carroll's webcomics that I'll link here that isn't a horror story.
It's a sweet tale of how the things we want sometimes aren't the things that make us happy.

The prince & the sea
http://emcarroll.com/comics/prince/andthesea.html

His face all red
http://emcarroll.com/comics/faceallred/01.html

Touchfood, by Jen Wang
http://jenwang.net/comics/touchfood
A short story about a man who falls in love with a dryad.

Heart of Ice, by Kate Craig
http://www.katecraig.ca/heartofice.html
A plane crashes somewhere in the mountains of Northern Quebec, and there's only one survivor. He waits near the plane for a rescue team to find him, but until that happens, he has to manage to stay alive.
