Hello, hello. I'm just curious if there's a patented way to go about this, as I'm struggling with my LVL7 T4 equipment. I run dungeons when I can, but there're never many people in the depths of the terminals, so I end up running around depth 2 alone. Even if I go into depth 3 with a friend or guild mate we get absolutely buttered by the arenas, and if there aren't any arenas it's six levels of scarce amounts of heat. Thanks for reading, look forward to responses!
Leveling T4 gear into T5 gear and beyond!
Once you have access to a tier, you can start it on any gate. There is a fee if you have not "earned access" for that tier for that specific gate. To avoid the fee (200 for T2, 500 for T3) you would have to pass the last level of the previous tier.
A gate can be broke up into 6 levels, or stratums as they are commonly called. These are essentially "before terminal" and "after terminal"
Tier 1:
Stratum 1 & 2
Tier 2:
Stratum 3 & 4
Tier 3:
Stratum 5 & 6
After Stratums 1, 3 & 5, you get to terminal and have access to recipes. The rewards for these stratums are these recipes. There is a chance to get a good recipe to buy them from Basil to sell on trade or the auction house for profit, or use it for yourself to craft new weapons.
After terminal, or stratums 2, 4 & 6, the reward for the levels are heat, crowns and boss tokens, if applicable. This is where you want to level your equipment.
A common thing to do is to join a party for a given gate at a given tier (I recommend tier 2 for your 4* equipment) in hopes of joining it at or near terminal. From there you will get a lot of heat and crowns. Stratum 5 has too little heat, and stratum 6 would likely be too difficult.
The most common level run is Jelly King (or Royal Jelly Palace) because of its previously great heat & crowns, and I think that habit continues. you will have the most success joining parties there in hopes that they are competent and can get you through the last few levels. Further to this, if you don't want to do the boss, you can leave at the gate at depth 16 and saving 10 ME/CE. I think it is balanced so that the 3 levels before the boss get about what you can get on a normal stratum 4 gate.

Let me try to clarify: You have 4-star equipment. You can't find people on Tier 3 (Strata 5 and 6, depths 19-28), so you instead run around Tier 2 (Strata 3 and 4, depths 9-17) solo?
Monsters do far more damage in Tier 3 than in Tier 2. (They also take more damage.) Players accustomed to Tier 3 play carefully, trying never to get hit, even if they have heavy armor. It seems to me that you are making this transition right now. Keep trying!
As far as arenas go, you probably know that the third stage is much more difficult than the first two stages. So consider skipping it, until you get stronger.
Playing on Tier 3 should give lots of heat to your 4-star equipment. But heating up a 4-star item past heat level 5 takes a while, no matter where you are. Heating up a 5-star item takes even longer. That's how the rules go.
I will subscribe to the previous posters' suggestion that you mistakenly wrote depth instead of tier, so you're basically saying that soloing Tier 2 with 4* gear is difficult.
Well, it is not. And the recipe is clear on that: Dodge, run, dodge, and then dodge some more. I can't stress it enough: As you go further down, the armor you wear is next to worthless and your only hope of survival is the vitapods you inevitably get and you TRYING NOT TO GET HIT.
As for the heat, there is much more when you run with a party than doing it solo, so you should always try to find one, and then since in revives you lose 30% of your heat, you should try not to revive. Fortunately for the party, if someone else revives you, they get the heat you lost so it is not lost in vain.
So, to recap,
1. Learn to dodge,
2. Always run in 4 people parties. Much better if they know what they're doing, and
3. Don't die often.
depth2 ? Why going T1 when you can go T2 and even T3 ? There is no beyond after 5star items [for now] . If you want better stuff make it 5star , or no :D . Its your choice
