It seems that whenever I play the game freezes after a while. It freezes up and then I am unable to close the window.

I open task manager and try to end the program but it doesn't yield. I go to processes and tell it to stop to no avail.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Ive noticed that alot of people are having this problem, and I have not yet found why. ive done everything they said to do Updating Java, adding it to my firewall exceptions, getting rid of old versions of java. None of that worked. My system is well within the requirements, Ive run much higher end games then this with no problem. This is frustrating me to no end that I cant play this awesome game with my friends without it crashing on me in the middle of a dungeon or just standing around town for that matter. Ive posted here, submitted support tickets, and sent bug reports. I just really want some help and im sure alot of other people on here do to.

You should really consider a complete re-installation of Java and maybe even opening up the correct firewall ports as per the Technical Help Sticky. This is more indicative of a greater computer setup problem.

Same here

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I've got the exact same problem as the guy at the top. I'm running Window 7 64-bit, with most recent version of Java installed. I played the game for about a half hour, and then it froze up. I open up Task Manager, click End Task, it tells me it's not responding, and I click End Task again. It has now been at least an hour since I started trying, and it's still frozen. I'm finishing up what I'm doing now so that I can log off, but everything is taking longer, because it seems to be occupying a lot of CPU and RAM.

Any suggestions for getting this to stop and/or getting it to shut down so the interruptions don't require me to log off every time I want to restart?

I've been playing for around

I've been playing for around a month now, and other than a few bugs like monsters not loading due to lag spikes I never had problems playing SK computer. But since this morning I play a few minutes and my computer crashes and becomes unresponsive so I have to restart the computer. Sometimes I just log on and get to haven and it crashes again. I noticed that my CPU usage goes up to the roof but the memory used stays at 10-20%. My computer isn't overheating though since it only takes like 2 minutes to crash again.

I have AMD Sempron(tm) 140 processor at 2.70 GHz
3GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
Latest java and video drivers

Already reinstalled java and SK, but still keeps crashing. Any ideas? Before this morning I was able to run SK/firefox and other programs all at once with no video lag or crashes. I didn't install any new programs and already ran the antivirus. So frustrating that I don't know what changed literally over night.

Need system specs from everyone in this thread, including security software. You might also want to try a malware scanner in safemode (MalwareBytes or Superantispayware-Portable).

After two days running

After two days running antivirus and anti-malware programs, it found two trojans (win32.gen.PUP and agent.ambq), removed both and the computer still crashing even when I just log on my user. Starting to think my video driver has gone baibai and it's not related to SK >.<
Sorry for the inconvenience, but it was only happening during SK before..
I'm not a computer master, so still any thoughs or suggestions would be appreciated. My processor and memory are around 2 months old only and I'm about to throw this computer out of the window. One thing that bugs me is, I ran the dxdiag.exe stuff and it says everything is working perfectly fine

SK runs under opengl, and

SK runs under opengl, and DXdiag only really checks DX support. Anyway, still trying to find any clues or patterns but its looking like a bug in code that gets out of control on certain systems.
