Danger room drops

ive been having the feeling of danger rooms being not so rewarding lately, so i decided to make a list of drops

depth 7 - 2011 sep 22
403 crowns
2 iron gear, 1 gel drop, 2 gel core, 1 green shard
1 primal spark

depth 10 - 2011 sep 23
288 crowns
1 static clinger, 1 green shard, 1 blue shard
1 forge spark, 2 grim spark
note this danger room was freakin hard because im using pure swords loadout atm, i had to cure shock multiple times and use up my healh pills, danger rooms really DO seem to be not worth it anymore and on top of that its only 3 monster spawns now

depth 12 - 2011 sep 23
422 crowns
4 gel drop, 1 static clinger, 3 green shard
1 forge spark
note it was fun killing the jelly thingys

im going to try to remember adding data whenever im at a danger room

in order to contribute, just take a screenshot before and after the room, so u can see the reward easily, pls mention the depth, ty

Instead of taking a screenshot you could put all your crowns into buying energy (say, 50 offers to buy energy for 500crowns and then the rest into one offer) and there, you have 0 on your crowns display at the start of the DR. I'd start taking down notes of profit too but apparently the payout is going to be tweaked and what not so there generally no point.

Was that run before or after Lockdown came out? There was an update to increase danger room rewards with that update (09/14/11):

Danger Room Data should also list the date of the dive. There are silent patches quite often is this game as well (or at least items that get overlooked in the update notes). It would be nice if posters listed the Gate & map they were on as well.

it was today right before i googled for a danger room crown drop thread and made 1 after finding nothing useful, so after lockdown came out

i can add the date if u find it useful

im not gona list the gate & map because my intention is to save time avoiding danger rooms on particular depths in case theyre not worth it

the monster themes, the gates, the maps vary all the time
the depth is clearly visible and depth 7 stays depth 7, no matter what map, gate or monster theme it is(not saying that danger rooms stay the same depending on depth)
ive also read and noticed ingame, that 2nd strata drop more crowns

if i was to chase after danger rooms(which would require them to be VERY worth it), then id be willing to note down additional info, but as for now, i just wana know if its worth my time and risking to die, while im actually on my way to a boss depth or to finish a tier for free crown access

of course i dont mind people sharing additional info, its just that i personally am not interested in anything but the depth and the drops

I had done ~4 different T2

I had done ~4 different T2 danger rooms since they got more dangerous. Each one was a total breeze, no falls, solo.

Until last night. I did one that was on the Queen Gate, depth 9. I had an Ash Tail set with my Sinister Skelly Shield equiped, because I though my biggest hurtle would be the Shock/Fiend Arena at depth 11. Well this depth 9 danger room was a shock turret themed room & it was brutal. Started out not so bad. a few blocks scattered about for cover, a line of gunpuppies on the far wall & a bunch of scuttlebots under foot. Then the subsequent waves had puppies on all sides so close there was not room to walk between them all up and down both sides. It was intense, too many energy balls in the air to dodge all & my shield could not even begin to take it. A couple revs later when it was done I vowed to take my Wise Qwlite Shield with me next time or skip it all together. I really should have taken some screens, but I was a bit too busy. Oh yeah, there was a sprinkling of rocket puppies in there too...

Anyway, sorry this post was so long, but point is I could not tell that it was a Gunpuppy room until I was inside. All you could tell from the outside was that it was shock themed. I will take screens for loot data next time.

note bombing in danger rooms is hella fun, weehahahahaahahahaha..WAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!!!

note there were rocket puppies in the room and i even died once

Danger Rooms? Not worth it?

They're always worth the mere 3 ce.
Last run I did had 5 danger rooms, and got plenty of stuff from them. My advice? Go for Strata 4 or later danger rooms.

does it seem a lot more monsters in danger rooms are dropping nothing, not even heat?

i might just be noticing something thats been like that for ages, just not so sure.

This was a specific change to the New more dangerous danger rooms. For whatever reason developers believed people were profiting too much even when they whipe-out and fail due to pick-ups along the way. Also, devs wanted to make the danger rooms harder by cutting back on the amount of heart drops, but they just cut back on drops period. At first this change resulted in pitiful danger room profits. The idea was the real reward would be behind the gate at the completion of the danger room. Later they answered our complaints that danger rooms were not profitable enough to be worth doing & increased the payout at the end. Probably they saw that danger room attendance dropped like a rock once we realized the profits were sooo low. Now to me the payoff seems meh... but at least its better then before (but it still doesn't feel as profitable as the pre-buffed danger rooms).
