Problem:
I've been a Guild master for about four months now, and one of my biggest hassles is having to make the same announcement over and over.
The problem occurs when I've planned a guild event or new guild contest, and (naturally) not all members are online to hear the initial announcement. This means having to make my Officers repeat the announcement on my behalf when those members finally log on. I've resorted to saving a copy of every announcement I need to make known as a text file for me to paste into the guild chat every now and then. I'd appreciate it if I didn't always have to do this, and I've come up with a (hopefully) simple solution.
My suggestion is this:
Implement a Guild Message system that displays a short message (set by a Guild Master or Officer) whenever a member logs in.
This way I can let my guild know they missed something while they were away, without needing to catch them online personally to tell them. The text box needn't be very long, and the message would preferably appear in the traditional officer-green chat colors. Word of Warcraft had this, and it worked to great effect. I believe this is something Spiral Knights should emulate, and shouldn't be terribly hard to implement. What do you guys think?
Thanks for hearing me out!
A good and useful idea.
