Should I stick with crafting the quartermaster goodies until later (like t3), or find a crafter to make the other pieces? I can do a fair bit of soloing so mats haven't been an issue, but I have no idea how to get the other recipes at a decent price if at all.
Also, is it better to get gear with rounded stats, or just take whatever has high stats (ie specialized sets are or aren't a liability if I can't do the former)?
Finally, how do the resist stats on armor work out? If I take an owlite shield (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Owlite_Shield) with +5 fire/shock resist does that give me full resist, or is that only like 5 out needed to immune?
Overall it just doesn't seem like there's a lot of documentation on how these mechanics work and the wiki hasn't been all that helpful x.x
Okay first off I'm pretty new myself so a lot of the stuff you're asking I'd like to know as well. However what I did was go to the wiki and look up a set of gear you like and try to get on its alchemy path. I wish I'd have done that before I figured out I wanted to use the wolver set, I could have saved myself a bit of cash.
This is just my speculation as I just started but I'm thining the way it will work out is that you could craft generic gear up until t4-5 and then once you're getting more money/mats you can go back and craft specialized sets for certain areas.
