Sloom make you sleep and - heal you too?

I've been put to sleep by a Sloom in addition to being creepily beaten. I have a dirty mind.
While the sleep counter is going down, the Sloom will attack me, sometimes wake me up, and... heal me for about 2 bars of health.
It's nice that the Sloom will wake me up once in a while but... heal me at the same time? Is this intentional?
The Sloom in particular is the smallest sleep sloom without the spikes.
It does seem rather silly. Sleep is just frost + heal, which makes it worse than frost. They don't even stay asleep when you hit them.
Nah, they can still attack with frost, it's just common practice not to attack from their front.

Yes, a nice nap will regen health for knights and monsters alike. Sleep is the newest status condition and as such is the least developed. But I'm very keen on presenting scenarios where you can risk taking a nap while monsters lurk about. I think a good compromise would be if sleep always added a defense debuff (as you're completely invulnerable) which would guarantee that your wake up hit hurts.
I'd like to see sleep be a bit more useful. When I'm asleep I can still be attacked until it wears off, so it's pretty dangerous, but when I hit sleeping monsters they wake up instantly. It just feels exactly the same as frost.
Hit enemy with frost vial, they are (effectively) taken out of the fight for a few seconds. Hit them, ice breaks.
Hit enemy with sleep vial, they are taken out of the fight for a few seconds. They heal. Hit them, they wake up.
There needs to be something else in there.

If a monster is cursed and asleep at the same time, they should have night terrors that damage them.
+1 to Shoebox idea.
On a related note, I have sometimes found that the enemy who got me asleep deals less damage than what sleep is healing me for. Which is kind of ridiculous.

Then how do I toss a sleep vial at myself?

did you notice that they break when they hit walls? stand against the wall and throw it

Tried it with a couple of other vials and failed. I guess that's a good thing. Imagine lagging and flinging a stun vial at a wall by mistake and stun yourself whilst being attacked by Druids? *shudders*
I've noticed when using sleep vials that the enemies too will gain health if you let them rest for a while. Same deal, I believe.
This is also why I stopped bothering with sleep vials.
