I got the Toxic needle and it seems ok to me. Not exactly the best gun around but i'm hoping it will be better as 4*. Is this right?
Is the blight needle any good?
when soloing as a gunslinger in t3, you want a gun that can poison.
otherwise you have to use pots or tricky business to deal with those gremlin healers.
they aren't anywhere near as bad now as they used to be, though, so it isn't that big a deal.
thank god they don't chain-res each other anymore!
your choices for a poisoning gun are blight needle and biohazard.
autoguns are more fun to play with, imo.
biohazard sounds like a mewling kitten and is slower than my balls.
biohazard would be a lot of fun if it was a grenade launcher like polaris!

Not really. I'd rather kill zombies in 1 charge attack. Blitz Needle.
Ok I don't pack a poison weapon myself, because even in arenas a good Umbra Driver charged attack "lucky hit" can kill healers in 1 hit. And standing still to shoot healers when mechs are coming down = death...
Note: For some reason, gremlins don't dodge during Alchemer charge attack until it ricochets. Anyway, even if they fix that you'll want to shoot healers (or using Polaris, the entire mob of mecha knights) until the healers dodge into a corner where you can get a clear shot...
There's something that's being discounted here, and that's Vana runs.
If you run with a blight needle against vanaduke in a party with at least one blitz needle, your keeping him poisoned for stages 1, 3, and 5 is going to up the damage that everyone is doing, hopefully making the fight shorter or easier.
As long as you realize that it's a support version of the blitz needle and act accordingly, I don't foresee any problems.

No. Blitz needle is still better here. Blitz Needles stagger and interrupt all gremlins. A charged Blitz needle shot will kill any T3 gremlin healer.
i think a previous thread determined that in stratum 6 a plague needle does something like ~84 per bullet while the blitz does 116 so getting 10% more damage from poison would still have the plague doing ~21% less damage than blitz solo, but with every member of a 4 person party taking a 10% damage bonus you could conceivably be adding 9% more damage overall than just blitz shooting. The healing prevention and lowered monster damage are small but notable pluses, but you also need to consider that you won't ever really have a 100% poison up time on targets your whole team is fighting except vanaduke (and maybe giant lichen colonies but you shouldn't be using your pierce weapon on those anyway) so basic depth to depth fighting you'll rarely see that damage bonus come into play. Personal preference i suppose.
oh man, i got some advice in another thread about how to use the blitz needle's charge.
that weapon is ridiculous!
definitely won't be carrying a poison weapon anymore.
i made the assumption that dodging mobs would dodge the blitz spray.
they do not.
they take the whole thing in the face.
i am reevaluating the way i use blitz.
In comparison to Blitz Needle, it's kind of a support-type gun. But that doesn't make it bad. Still deals piercing, still does a lot on the charges, but sacrifices a little more damage for poison. Not a bad gun at all.
