Players should be able to move during the Cutter/Striker series charge attack.
The charge attack of the Cutter/Striker series is very useless at the moment, because you stay fixed in one position and its a close range attack. All but turret style monsters can simply move away or are moved away by fellow party members hits, often. So at the moment a Cutter/Striker series user attacks thin air during his charge attack, most of the time. To be able to move or turn would solve this issue and make the attack very useful.
Alternatively or additionally, it would be nice to be able to interrupt the attack by using the shield, because at the moment a Cutter/Striker series user is exposed to enemy attacks during his charge attack . So a wise person with this knowledge will avoid using the Cutter/Striker series charge attack, because it will usually hit less than standard attack, but contrary you can't shield, turn or walk until its over.
PS:
This problem is not similar to Autogun series, because the Autogun series charge attack is ranged and will hit moving enemies more often. This means enemies must move out of a larger area to avoid being hit. Also, some of the Autogun series charge attacks pull enemies towards the user, keeping them in range, effectively.
This issue is also not similar to other swords like the Flourish series, because those other swords charge attacks are either shorter (means you can walk/shield sooner) or those other swords charge attacks move the user around sooner during the animation (often towards enemies) so he won't attack thin air that often; or - if it moves him backwards, like a Spur/Snarble series sword for example - he will often avoid being hit by an enemy that just got away, but can still reach the user.
As someone who randomly switches between ascended calibur and vile striker, I see the charge on my ascended as a powerful attack to be used tactically. I, however, see my v.striker's charge as completely pointless!
The point of the vile striker is to be an assassin's blade, so standing still and attacking to only hit 5 times when theres the standard combo that hits 10 and moves around... its just insanity!
There are few cases where ive used my charge successfully where the standard combo may have failed, and that is on weaker enemies that are somehow held in place (i.e. weakened gun puppies, stunned/frozen/shocked other enemies (also weakened)) and, given that it is far too restrictive, the charge needs to be overhauled to at least give the charge attack a 'ill tear you up before you know what hit you' quality that should be natural to an ASSASSIN'S blade!
Has to be said though, on a cornered enemy, the standard combo and charge are terrifyingly awesome.
