Have Fire Resistance UVs on owlite shields been proven to help?

I have a wise owlite shield with a Medium Fire Resistance UV on it.
I've heard from some people that it helps a little bit even though the shield already has max fire resistance.
I've also heard that it's a useless UV.
I'm about to craft it into a Grey owlite shield but was hoping I could get some answers about the UV
and some advice on whether or not I should keep it. Or take a chance for a new one.
Any advise you guys have would help.

I'd advise to keep only to resell, but otherwise try your luck with another uv because it doesnt seem to do anything
