I already have the faust with my armour:Seraphic Helm, Seraphic Mail + Wise Owlite shield w/ low curse resist UV, but iv always wondered if there is a better sword out of the 2. do tell.

Nicoya-Kitty is right about the damage problem. DA is elemental while GF is shadow, so you would use them on completely different monsters, and your other weapons would have a strong effect on which you should use. If you haven't yet, read the Spiral Knights wiki page on "Damage" and learn the monsters' vulnerabilities and resistances. Then, carry two (or three) non-normal damage types (piercing, elemental, shadow), and use them on the correct monsters, to inflict huge damage.
Nicoya-Kitty is also right that you'll probably end up wanting both. They're both quite nice.
Get a sealed sword and craft it to a faust. Then use it to farm jelly tokens to get a second sealed sword to craft to an avenger. Best of both worlds!
They're both two-hit swords, but they have completely different damage profiles. It's not really worth trying to compare them directly.
