So this one sounds.. completely insane, and I know most people reading this are going to think I lost my marbles.
So lately I've been doing ALOT of Jelly runs, and a few Royal Jelly fights. For the heck of it, I decided to try my guns since I heard the Royal jelly doesn't exactly have a piercing resistance.
For the Striker/Blitz. I got normal damage. So I imagine the plague needle is probably a nightmare to the Jellyking.
For the Callahan, I got dark numbers, 42 damage.
So apparently not all piercing weapons are equal on this jello giant. I'd be interested if anyone else has attempted this sort of thing before with other weapons? I know I've seen similar strange results with the Mini jellies, receiving brown numbers off my Polaris and Shadow driver and some how doing over 100 normal damage with a Gigawatt and less with my shadow driver for Green mini jellies. And no, I'm not using trinkets yet.
Something is weird with that Jelly Palace.
I think all piercing weapons are equal on JK, it's just that you are being thrown off by the way weapon damage is shown. Dark and orange numbers are in relation to the damage done, not if the enemy is actually weak or strong to a weapon (those damage modifiers just usually push damage into the respective "weak" or "strong" zones). For example, while using a lower level Strike Needle on Vanaduke I was getting white numbers, yet during the same fight somebody poisoned him and suddenly the white 82s became orange 90s. My DA charges also always show up as white on zombies in FSC, even though it does massive damage and they are weak to it (the projectiles show up as orange, but not the strike).
