No, this does not belong in the suggestions forums. I am not suggesting, I'm TELLING you guys.
And it's not whining either, it's complaining. You should be VERY familiar with what whining looks like by now.
Anyway, my argument is that because of computer crashes, sudden disconnects (either because of a fault or because your ISP's a jerk), trolls, and ragequitters (and in one scenario I witnessed there was a guy who kept joining LD but quitting right before matches start or afterwards because there were no bombhead masks as bribe rewards) it is completely impossible to entirely stop people from leaving LD matches right after joining them (and of course, this applies to the other PvP modes as well).
These sudden leaves result in team imbalance, and when a game is all about how many areas your guys can capture having one less person can be a recipe for disaster... and this can often result in more people leaving out of a lack of hope for their chances at winning. This is even dumber.
It's even worse somehow when you're playing on smaller maps, on top of their seeming tendency to get one-sided VERY fast.
And I'm not just saying this because I had the bad luck to end up with a bunch of quitters or people with tech issues. Lord no, with my luck it's actually the other team that often ends up with a quitter... and the fact that my team had more people just spoils the winning for me and makes LD feel rather unsatisfactory to play.
I'll leave it up to OOO how they should compensate for the people whose teammates uncontrollably end up leaving. Either boot a random member off the opposing team to keep some level of parity or give the quitter's team some crowns as compensation.
"Either boot a random member off the opposing team to keep some level of parity"
I see this as problematic, I wouldn't want to be kicked just because I've had one less. I'll admit, I've been on the losing one teammate side more often than not, but I wouldn't want to be kicked. And this could sorta inspire more quitting. "Hey I'm going to lose against these guys, well at least I can take a member out with me." Then another guy does the same maybe just for spite.
" or give the quitter's team some crowns as compensation."
Probably goes against the whole small crown sink of the game. Otherwise they'd have done this for Blast Network (though sometimes it was actually an advantage there to lose teammates). In general, I think they want to keep rewards between the two identical, so there won't be any quitter loser rewards unless they're added to both.
