I'd like to hear some strategies/weaknesses that people have seen in the current PvP when it comes to gear and also some good ideas for lower and upper tier battles. If anyone knows a surefire combo of setups post them here!

Here's my say

OP Weapons
*Shivermist - Stops everyone in their tracks and it breaks your stealth or speed boost
---Skolver walks right through it
*Voltaic Tempest - Utterly devastating. Shock interrupts shielding, charging, attacking, moving, you name it
---Magic cloak line walks through it
*Flourish/Snarble Barb - As everyone knows, Vog is super popular, and has no piercing defense = lots of kills
---DON'T USE VOG! This is OP just because so many DO wear vog
*Polaris - Long range, wide spread, and applies shock. Spam a capture point or a choke point and win the game
---It is slow and easy to avoid if you are in a more open area. Kill the gunner, then capture the point or you will be sorry
*Faust/Avenger - The staple of most PvP battles. They hit hard, really really hard. Vog ASI bonuses make them even more so.
---Slow and huge recovery time, if you can avoid/live through the second swing, you can get a couple of good hits off, and if they are using vog that's all you need with a flourish.

Rarely seen
*Stagger Storm - Armor that resists stun aren't commonly used nor is it a highly sought after uv. Stagger+VT combo would be pretty boss as divine and grey feather can avoid the shock, but not the stun.
---Jelly would walk though it, but once again, group it with any other bomb and you'd be pretty safe and they couldn't do anything to protect themselves.
*Venom Veiler - Poison reduces armor and attack, this could lead your team to an easy win in most fights. Most armor does not protect against it nor do people seek it as a uv.
---No damage, no CC. Spamming it would be stupid and instant death.

Good Weapons
*Brandish line - Good range on charge attacks, nice elemental/shadow damage, good attack speed and recovery. If you think DA/GF are too slow, these are good alternitives
---Lacking in damage compared to GF/DA and elemental armor is common
*Antigua Line - quick firing, nice damage. Sentenza is superior due to the lack of shadow armor on most, but the speed and range lets you snipe while staying mobile and being able to block incoming attacks.
---Piercing is becoming more common since everyone is ready to counter vog, and the hybrid damage leaves a lot to be desired in damage. Reloading leaves you vulnerable.
*Blitz/Plague needle - Hard to dodge single shots and is relatively quick cooldown if you only shoot one at a time. Perfect for defusing bombers.
---Can't move while shooting. Unless you're pestering someone on a point or behind a wall it is very dangerous to use.

Bad Weapons
*Leviathan/CIV - Doesn't do any damage... This really upsets me. Charge attack is useless since most people will hit you before you can let go, and if you can let go, they'll just outdamage you with a combo or move out of the way of it's obvious windup. It also has a long recovery the first hit on the spin will knock them out of the way from the rest of them.
*Ash of Agni - Everyone has vog. The fire it casts does very low damage and most will just walk through and kill you.
*Radiant Sun Shards - If you're pro and feel I'm wrong about this then go ahead, this is just my oppinion, but most people are smart enough to dodge the fixed spread of the RSS and nobody is going to stand directly on top of them.

Of course there are lots of other weapons that I am leaving out, and that is either because I don't care about them, I forgot about them, or I just honestly don't know how well they would work. Also I got bored and decided to end it here.

Nope

I dont think weapons are OP, but they give a small advantage in some cases. Its bad to judge weapons just because they are "not right for the situation." I think the huge variety is what makes them equal, and balanced. It's all a matter of opinion

just about any weapon with

just about any weapon with normal damage is a bad weapon, if only because every piece of armor anyone will wear has lots of normal defense.

i would never bring an autogun line weapon in a pvp. the pepperbox is good for ranged cloaked recon checks due to its spread, but that's about it.

radiant sun shards isn't bad for guardians, just don't expect to stand still and spam it and get kills.

flourish is easy mode. it has the best speed, range, and above average damage.

- Brandish line: what it

- Brandish line: what it lacks is RANGE. I have a Final Flourish and an Acheron, but I never use the latter because of the huge range difference. Well maybe I should against full Skolvers :-P

- Alchemers: my Hail Driver is not that great in PvP. Pure elemental sucks vs Vogs, and Freeze seems to apply very rarely compared to PvE. Maybe Shadowtech could be a good choice with its pure shadow damage.

- What about Callahan?

I hear Callahan deals damage

I hear Callahan deals damage similar to a Flourish hit; I know for sure, though, that the shots do pack a large punch.

As for LD synergy, it pairs well with Shiverlocks [Recon for added effect.]
