I've seen some forum and trade chat posts about these types of deals.
Is this feature available on Steam Trade or something? I can't find it and I would appreciate it if anyone can show me around. :D

Yeah, games can be traded as well, my steam name is sterlingdax if you want you can add me and I can show you around it (it'll probably show up as >f7>sterlingdax). The game in question, if you are interested, was just part of the weekend SEGA sale on Steam, and was around 75-90% off, take that into consideration if you want to trade, he probably gave less than $5 for it. It's also been on sale at least 3 times since Christmas.
Basically you go to your Community page in Steam, and in the top right you should see several options, to view screenshots, videos, your profile and inventory, your inventory is your tradable items, you can even drag and drop some of these into a standard chat to show off, say, your TF2 hats, I assume it works the same with Spiral Knights stuff, we can try it later, if you like.

I'm not interested in AvP though, looking to offload my CE for something like Might and Magic Heroes 6 or Torchlight 2 (when it's out).

I would advertise that fact, there is an option when you buy games to add them to the trading list, but they can't be used in any way, so it would probably be best to have people know what you are interested in beforehand.
Both of those are games that I am very excited about, especially Torchlight 2, hope to see you around that game. I assume you are like me, and have killed everything in SK as much as you want, and are kinda just spinning wheels until something new comes out, I'm not into PvP, it's not interesting to me at all, been putting up sell orders for high cr prices and gambling with Punch in the meantime, hope something comes out soon.
Might I suggest you take a look into Dungeon Defenders, it's due out on the 19th and is an Action RPG/ Tower Defense hybrid that is tons of fun, I've been playing it on iOS despite the system limitations. Been thinking about Darkspore, but the horrible reviews and the sudden price drop from $50 to $30 make me pretty cautious.
It is, indeed, through Steam Trading. I've managed to trade a TF2 hat for some of my Spiral Knights wealth. :P
