Latency in Lockdown

Hi!
Latency in lockdown is a pretty huge problem...
2 knights with equal skills.... one is from US and the other from EU and believe me... the US will win in every situation.
Why?
Latency...
US players are going to come and say... get a better connection! that's a s*** argument.
Anyways, i seriously don't 'know how to fix that but that's not even fair...
Make it fair! Thanks

You just noticed? It was known since months that it would be like that.

hmm my latency is good i think and i am in swizerland :x dont know what problems you guys have

Agree with Sherperd. Afterwards, its probably not only local to EUR, it could affect US players too. But well I still believe we EUR suffer much more about it. Anyways, it doesn't mean all of us find lag unbearable, but personnally I find this game is way too laggy. I'd say its due to the server location.
And what infuriates me with this is OOO/Sega translated the game in other languages and recruited staff to moderate them. It would be logic to install them a server too.

I think they just need more or better servers.
If you seem to always die in SK, it's either that you suck, or it's latency problems. I refuse to believe I've been sucking since April. I DO have a 30ms ping, sort of a lot of jitter, and a very low DL speed (bordering on 3rd world country bad), however.
I get hit with shots that I was definitely blocking. I swing at mobs or Pvpers who end up not getting hit for some reason. I also get all lagged out when there's 4 players in the group and more than 1 uses an attack with added graphics.
It's getting to the point where I don't know how to play without lag...I've compensated for it for so long. I did a T3 run through a Lichenous Lair solo at midnight last night, and it ran so smoothly that I had to readjust my fighting style. The first half of the run was me swinging too early, or too fast.

I bet a lot of issues also arise because the game uses UDP for its netcode. A lot of ISP's do not play nice with UDP traffic and treat it as a second-class citizen. At least in my case, if a node becomes under heavy load UDP throughput suffers dramatically. I suspect they are doing some kind of traffic shaping/inspection that uses CPU cycles and once that threshold is hit UDP traffic is delayed until it becomes available (usually <1000ms but still).

Actually, i just play during afternoon GMT hours because i know there's a majority of EU players so it's quite fair to play lockdown! And i'm very good at it!
As soon as it's night.... i get more and more pissed the more i play just because i die at the first hit of a faust but oh surprise, it seems it hits me twice just because he already swung his sword twice!
Moreover, I'm getting sick when i try just to dodge, i get hit/ I die because the sword hits me from MILES away but guess what!!! I'm dead.
I guess somehow, the guy just throw the sword at me and pick up his sword again to fight other people. THat would make sense

and Moreover, when you got latency, you can't Counterattack a faust combo-hit (like you can't try to hit the guy with your sword during the little time between the first and second hit!) Guess what again, US player can!
Isn't that awesome?
Afternoon GMT: 10k damage average
Night GMT or Afternoon PST : 5k damage there's obviously a problem :/

I was having trouble breaking 3k damage today, I usually do 8k+. Striker was almost unplayable. Normally I have 3 bars on the connection, but all day it has been hovering at 2. I'm in the US and was the only person on my network.
Watching myself die with my attacker halfway across the screen, I realized that their swing animation was occurring where I was standing moments before rather than where I am. Makes hitting all but stationary targets quite a challenge. Not sure yet how to adjust my strategy so that people don't swing where I was and I swing where they will be. Hmm, will have to think about that one.
I live in Tennessee, and I still die before I actually see the sword swing. The latancy is pretty bad here, too.
