Make it free to enter, or make it better.

10 ce cost to enter, 10 ce = 600 crowns at the current economy.
I went in there, and got 400 with barely any heat.

It's not worth it, and it's just a waste of my time AND money.

It drops a lot of tokens,

Vaults drop a lot of tokens, usually 4 or 5. Those vendor for 50 crowns each if you turn them into trinkets, or possibly more as materials on the AH.

I consider them the bad ? level. The graveyards are awesome.

Really Fix Devilish Drudgery

10 ce cost to enter, 10 ce = 600 crowns at the current economy.

I went in a Devilish Drudgery at depth 9, got 176 crowns
I went in a Clockwork Passage at depth 9, got 164 crowns
I went in a Deconstruction Zone at depth 9, got 160 crowns
I went in a Candlestick Keep at depth 9, got 166 crowns
I went in a Wolver Den at depth 9, I got 197 crowns

Getting less from a level than the CE cost of entering it is...pretty typical. There are a few good levels, almost everything else (especially in odd strata) seems to be little more than a tax to gain access to useful locations.

I wouldn't object to changing that, though it really does look like deliberate design that the odd strata are nothing but energy-sucking traps. Perhaps that's their attempt to encourage people to create guilds, so you can join people around the clockwork terminal and skip the worst half of the levels.

I'd also be in favor of making the payouts of various levels more even, though. Treasure Vaults aren't even close to the greatest outlier at present...

@Kwizzy: Usually 4 or 5 tokens? I must have the worst luck in the world, because I've done dozens of Treasure Vaults and I don't believe I've ever seen more than 3, and I think I average less than 2.

At 5 tokens per vault, they'd actually be pretty respectable; I believe the higher-priced 5-star materials go for upwards of 3k on auction, which is 150cr/token.

.....

The point is that they are treasure vaults. Not kids piggy banks. No-one would even go INTO them, given the choice.

Well, some people might.
But I may as well do graveyard. More fun, and maybe more cr.

Could be really good luck for

Could be really good luck for me, or really bad for you. Hard to say with these kinda things :\

I kept track last weekend and most levels were on par with or worse than the vaults for me too. Not worth adventuring on CE these days (I hate arenas)

Folks have told me they found equipment in treasure vaults, are those drops really rare? I don't think I've seen any myself

Equipment from Treasure Boxes

Apparently all treasure boxes can drop equipment, but yes, it's really rare. There's a thread of reports here:

I think the single, only,

I think the single, only, redeeming point of Vaults is that you have a higher chance to gain Tokens on that level than most others. This is not a cast-iron rule, it sometimes works the other way as well.

Well

I'm not asking for the Treasure vault to be a big deal, but at least make it free to enter.

Think about it. If memory serves me right you can't invite or join someone in the treasure vault, and not to mention it saids "Fortune smiles upon the greedy". That, to me, sounds like there should be a lot of money. Now, I'm not ASKING for a lot of money, but what I am asking for since almost EVERY stage that isn't a boss isn't worth your time at least make this one SLIGHTLY profitable. You can't abuse it because you can't loop it or anything, and you can't wait before it because the TV is a question mark, which will change. It can't really be "abused". All I'm asking for is to make it free when you enter it. When you go into the treasure vault, it doesn't cost 10CE. Is that too much? JUST the treasure vault.

In a world where going to a

In a world where going to a place called Graveyard brings smiles to the greedy players of this game over a place called Treasure Vault there is something horribly wrong here. Treasure Vault is supposed to be the OH WOW GUYS LOOK TREASURE VAULT SWEET! Not hey guys look Treasure Vault, not enough Graveyard. A Place of the dead is more profitable then a place that implies money. GO GRAVEROBBING!

Graveyards aren't that great,

Graveyards aren't that great, a D28 Graveyard gave me only 748 crowns, meanwhile, i don't remember which floor it was exactly but i think it was a D12 Treasure Vault, it gave me~790 crowns and 5 tokens. I think they might be adjusting stuff like that seamlessly.

For comparison other stuff on D22:
Candlestick Keep - Noxious Night - 369 crowns
Icemaul Arena - Wrench Warfare - 1320/1349/1428 crowns
Deconstruction Zone - Cold Storage - 513 crowns
Candlestick Keep - Cold Shadows - 370 crowns
Aurora Isles - Jelly Farm - 1307 crowns

D28 stuff:
Wolver Den - Frost Fury - 980 crowns
Deconstruction Zone - Molten Mayhem - 804 crowns
Concrete Jungle - Bliar Bone Barrage - 662 crowns

As you see there are levels with much bigger issues than Treasure Vaults.

I agree

Most areas don't give you profit. Hell, the only real way to MAKE any sort of profit is to do a boss, but I think that's how three rings intended it.

I'm saying the Treasure vault is supposed to be a "Lucky" thing where you're "rewarded". I don't feel like I'm being rewarded if I lose money.

I think not costing 10 ce would perfectly do that. That way, whatever you make there, costed you nothing. You can't repeat it, because there is no way to enter it through someone who's in there. Plus it makes going down the elevators less costly. Now, instead of spending 80 ce to go down all the way, I spent 70.
