So now that steam allows trading in game items from games such as TF2, Portal 2, and Spiral Knights (including crown currency), for steam games, I was wondering approximately how many crowns would be worth (approximately) $1 of a game (I'm asking this way so I can calculate the crown value of any game). I already went to TF2 forums and got the value of keys in order to calculate the dollar value of scrap, reclaimed, refined metal and weapons.

So again, to restate my question, $1 is equal to (approximately) how many crowns?

This value depends on two things:
1. Current ce/crowns exchange rate (can be seen in the game, currently you get around 58 crowns per 1 CE you sell).
2. Amount of $$ you spend. If you spend $20 or even $25 (limited-time offer), you get more CE per $ ($20 gets you 7500 ce).

Currently, $1 gets you
17k crowns ($2.45) - 22k crowns ($19.95).
On average $1 is 20.000 crowns.

To be honest, the one who

To be honest, the one who will buy the games with credit card should get more than the exchange rate value because he's basically doing something that the other one can't or doesn't have (credit card)

@Eggboy I know this seems

@Eggboy I know this seems weird but it seems that people trading games on steam for items are selling the games for 1/4 to 1/3 off the normal price. For example:

Mr.Beanster
"It's really depend on what price you want for them. From what i seen, most people want $10 for SMB and $10-$15 for Dead Space"
http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25180999&postcount=2

That's 1/4 to 1/3 off normal price. I don't know why but people seem to be trading that way.
