Their max price is 800 ce. Because for $5 I get 1,600 ce.
Actually all conversions assume you're buying the largest package of $50 per 20,000CE, because that's the most you'll get out of cash -> CE.
Going by that rate, $5 really is 2,000CE.
Do I actually buy huge bulks of CE to exchange it for... 2 keys? I don't. Maybe you do?
$5 is 2 keys, $5 is 1600 ce. So each key is 800 ce.
$2.45 is 750 ce, $2.49 is 1 key.
So 1 key is worth 750 ce.
Not that I'm buying >:D
Shinigami, you are very, very wrong.
People are more likely to buy the reasonably affordable $20 package or the somewhat expensive $50 package just because the value of CE per dollar is markedly better. So...
$19.95 buys you 7500 CE, at which rate $2.49 (US TF2 key) buys you 936 CE.
$49.95 buys you 20000 CE, at which rate $2.49 (US TF2 key) buys you 997 CE.
And that's not even mentioning the fact that the size of the playerbase for TF2 is on a completely different level from Spiral Knights, distorting the value of TF2 items even higher over that of Spiral Knights items based on demand...
Some people sell keys for around 2.33 refined.
Some people buy refined at 300 ce. This makes perfect sense of 750 ce per 1 key :D
Do you know anyone who purchased $50 worth CE to trade it for TF2 items? I don't.
But, basically, all I'm saying is 1 key is $2.50, same as 750 ce is $2.50. Direct conversion rate would be 750 ce for 1 key. I'm only stating emotionless facts >:D
For the record: I'm interested in buying 2 keys for 1.600 ce. I'm not trolling >:D
Keys for UK players are £2 each, however spiral knights has a more realistic conversion rate for money so CE is cheaper.
1600 CE is £3.18
2 keys are £4
I'm also fairly sure europeans pay slightly higher in $
That's a loss.
I'm fairly sure the Spiral Knights community isn't completely American, so to me, to get the most out of my keys if I had bought them, I wouldn't want 800 CE because I'd be wasting money.
Even if you buy 3500 CE at £6.39 you can buy 3 keys and still have 1 ref's value left over. 3 keys is £6.
People sell refined for $0.95 each, there are people who sell it singular via paypal, use middlemen or get others to go first if they have the rep to be trusted enough.
I don't see why anyone would buy CE to buy keys anyway, unless they wanted it for cheaper. If you're using steam (which is why you'd buy keys, you have to use the steam trade anyway) it goes in the steam wallet $5 minimum. Why not use the money in the wallet to buy keys seperately? It's in the same area, it's just where you spend it.
To me, 1k is a fair price. Obviously in terms of $ to what you get, it makes sense for US players to just get keys instead.
Besides, you can always earn crowns and buy CE in spiral knights; TF2 has a fixed drop rate per account per week where you'll usually get 8-12 weapons which isn't even 1 refined.
I don't buy keys to sell specifically for CE either. I just have a few I've accumulated.
