Sup guys, I'm trying to figure out which sword should I keep as a "main" while playing to compliment my gun and bomb so I'd like some opinions on what I have. I tend to play with a Valkyrie DA/Flourish/Peacemaker user and a Divine set Cold Iron Carver/Shivermist/Biohazard user, so I'm trying to look for something different. While I'm kinda looking for an all around focus, I guess I'm slightly focusing for a FSC set.

My Weapons

Main Gun: Polaris
Main Bomb: Dark Briar Barrage

Swords I've gotten:

Wild Hunting Blade
Barbarous Thorn Blade
Triglav
Winmillion
Recently: Nightblade

Thanks for the help in advance btw. :D

piercing, elemental, shadow

Well, you have an elemental gun and a piercing bomb. Consider getting a shadow sword (Acheron or Gran Faust) to fill out your damage types? Of course, mixing the weapon types (sword, gun, bomb) with the damage types (piercing, elemental, shadow) means that you can't really use certain weapon types on certain monsters. But that is life, when you're limited to four weapons. if you'd rather have a general-purpose sword, then go Leviathan.

Starting from scratch is expensive...

I think you can stick with your normal damage with Triglav or Wild Blade.

The previously mentioned Shadow sword is also not a bad idea. With the exception of Polyps (which your Polaris is fairly OK against), shadow-weak enemies are the things you can easily use a sword on. In a fiend tier, you can easily swap that out for your Thorn Blade.

Stay with the wild hunting

Stay with the wild hunting blade, its quite a good sword, and it makes your overall damage better

Fascinating...

I'm glad to see so far that the Wild Hunting Blade is upon the recommendations. I pretty much thought the Archeron too would be one of the best choices, as being half normal is not that bad against fiends/undead, but of course it takes more time. Being good at certain things, but not at everything, is generally what I'm looking for.

While I'm not exactly fond of weapon switching or having too much stuff, is getting a load out of 4 weapons such a great idea? Right now I'm torn between the Wild Hunting Blade and the Archeron.

Acheron is a great shadow weapon

I used Gran Faust for a long time, but nowadays I rarely use it, because I prefer Acheron. So yes, I recommend Acheron. You already have the 3-star version, although of course it's the 4-star and 5-star upgrades that cost so much.

I always play with three weapon slots. Four obviously gives you more flexibility, but when I tried it I found switching among all the weapons to be confusing. Maybe I just need more practice, or a mouse with a coarser scroll wheel.

Your DA might feel like a

Your DA might feel like a different sword if you had maxed out ASI. If you are making a FSC loudout, full Vog + Elite Quick Strike Module would give your DA ASI Maximum and Normal protection might serve you better in FSC then Shadow. I know, my suggestion is not cheap & fairly generic, but ASI is fairly transformative for 2 swingers...

Also, nobody mentioned the Elemental Brandishes. The Voltedge is pretty easy to get by playing Lockdown. I am heating up my Boltbrand UV CTR Med (will be max after heat + my trinket) for FSC right now.

Then again, if I was going to just take one sword into the Citadel it would be a Levi (or CIV).

FSC, right

My recommendations above were for general Clockworks play. If you're specifically looking for a Firestorm Citadel set, then a shadow weapon is useless. For FSC, get a Glacius, DA, or Levi/CIV. Polaris should be pretty good on everything in FSC except Vanaduke; I won't comment on it against Vanaduke. DBB is okay, but a freeze bomb (Shivermist) or a damage bomb (Nitronome) seems more useful. In FSC, I use a sword, a piercing gun (or Argent), and a Shivermist Buster.

@Bluescreen/Bopp

Thanks again for the advice. Considering the expenses and what I've got so far, yeah, it'll be pretty dull and expensive to get the trinkets and the vog cub (is like starting all over again). I managed to get max attack speed with my Triglav, so I think I know how a DA would feel. I guess I'll keep on with Archeron leveling for the time being and see if I can get a specific sword against vanaduke for FSC (unless I pretend I'm awesome and Wild Hunting Blade the crap out of him :D).
