Ewbte, I'm sorry but what you mentioned above is horribly wrong. If you have actually played a lot in PvP, you would realise that a vast majority of the players are equipped in Vog set (which I will explain later). Of course, you would definitely see some in divine/skolver hybrids. But how many? Divine Avenger deals normal and elemental damage, which deals lesser damage to those in full Vog Set compared to Gran Faust, which deals normal and shadow. For players who do not spend money on this game, they will more likely be tempted to wear the Vog Set as compared to the Divine/Skolver, since it gives you a Very High Asi boost. We all know that counterattacks in PvP are extremely important. Wearing a Divine/Skolver set does not give you any Asi boost, and this is the reason why most do not go for this set, since only the rich/players-who-pay will be able to afford the Very High Asi DA/GF.

Also, not everyone has shadow defense, but almost everyone has elemental defense, since Vog Set provides Normal/Elemental defense. Hence, Asi GF is more valued compared to the Asi DA, since it is the weakness to majority of the PvP crowd out there.

Hope what I just said gave you a clearer idea, and now you should be able to understand what lortab just said.

The first paragraph was to convince you why the majority of the PvP crowd uses Vog, since when you said 'everyone trying to have shadow and piercing in their loadouts', I was assuming you were referring to the Divine/Skolver set.

When you said 'unless not everyone has shadow defense", you were trying to say that everyone HAS shadow defense, which is fundamentally wrong. A Vog Set user has zero shadow defense.
