In the wiki it says "The gremlin language is completely indecipherable to any other intelligent race." so why do they speak english? examples: gremlin menders: "arise!", "ember bolt!". Gremlin bombers: "Catch!"
Why does it happen?

Well, surely they must've

Well, surely they must've picked up a bit on the language of us Knights by now?

Perhaps the key word here is

Perhaps the key word here is "intelligent".

still....

if its "indecipherable," we shoulnt be able to read it.

Perhaps they don't use their

Perhaps they don't use their first language because they don't want the Knights to deem them as unintellegent by saying something like "Gramilstork" when meaning "Ember Bolt".

Or maybe they learned the language of the Knights to try and make peace with us but before they could do that we started delving the Clockworks and they took that as a threat and now they're just used to using our language.

I guess.....

gremlins are a mystery. I do not believe they are evil..., or that their king is..... I think whatever brought them to the clockworks is controlling them somehow.... Forcing them to slave away in the clockworks.....

Indecipherable? LIES

This is the future, they would've developed a universal translator by now.

But does it work?

but universal translators never work for a new language. you have to program, break, fix, destroy, remake, slash, gun, eat, and sell a universal translator (all in that order) in order to work for a new language. everyone knows that. thats chump change facts. even that noob who lives across the street knows that.

Maybe "Arise," "Ember Bolt,"

Maybe "Arise," "Ember Bolt," and "Catch," by a staggeringly unlikely coincidence, mean something in the Gremlin language, something other than what they mean in English. Maybe they're really expressing their disdain for their working conditions (I think knights passing through violently murdering your co-workers is an OSHA violation). Or perhaps they're discussing which Gremlin restaurant to go eat at on their lunch break. Maybe "Catch," in Gremlin, means "Hey, let's go try out that new sandwich shop. You know, the one three blocks down from my old apartment."

Just because we understand

Just because we understand it, doesn't mean that the knights have to.

haha, maybe they're mocking

haha, maybe they're mocking us when they use our language. "Catch" throws bombs at you that you can't toss back. "Ember bolt" hits you with an attack you never have time to block. And "arise" a revival that you can't stop no matter what.

Also "stay close" another healing attack that you won't be able to stop, heck if you get close to a healer doing that, you'll get pushed away.

So the way I see it, if I must put a reason behind it, they say these things in our language just to mess with us, taunt us, whenever they know we can't do anything about it.

Your language is completely indecipherable to me.

"The gremlin language is completely indecipherable to any other intelligent race."

It means we're idiots.

Maybe they know more than one

Maybe they know more than one language.

Nah, that's too obvious.

What have I become‽

We see them speaking our own language and somehow mistake it for theirs. I think Tanbon and Shoebox might be onto something, but I can't quite see it yet... I have a feeling it involves tomatoes.
