Out of curiosity, what are the fastest weapons in terms of attack speed for swords and handguns from 1 star to 5 stars?
Don't really care about damage, just more action.

Cutter (Striker, Vile Striker, Plague Striker (?) / Hunting Blade, Wild Hunting Blade (most style!)

"Plague Striker (?)" you mean Dread Venom Striker (DVS) 5*.
The autogun line is crazy fast rate of fire, but it comes in bursts so it is kinda more like a 2 shooter (2 burster). Depends on how you look at it.
ASI buffs are also out there by UV, armor, and trinkets. (ASI = Attack Speed Increase)
Cutter series and Antigua series have the most attacks per second and require you to click a lot. Sabers like Thorn Blade series and Flourish series also have fairly fast attacks and recovery. Supernova/Polaris line also has a decent rate ot fire. Attack speed bonuses from UV's or armor are great too. Heh heh.
