Has any one seen the wheel land on the Chromalisk? It's an obvious possibility that it just doesn't. If it does, it might yield nothing or, as suggested, just give some random item. Is it useless if most players who see it get a good chuckle?

It's pretty simple if you put thought in it.
Whenever I see the Chroma in the wheel, it says something like 26 cr or ultra health capsule or vial or whatever.
Whatever it says on it, is what is going to be taken from you. :P

I don't believe that the chroma actually steals one of your pickups, nor do I believe the prize wheel can even land on it. There was speculation when the prize wheel came out that it would, but if that were the case it would be a kleptolisk rather than a chroma, and nobody has yet come up with even a screenshot showing the prize wheel landing on the chroma.
Just speculation turning into rumours turning into accepted truth.
