Not really a major issue since I have Steam to sign in through, but I figured I'd bring it up in case there's a fix. Basically, I got this off of Steam, and played it that way for a while until another issue already addressed in another topic. However, at that time I attempted to create an account here to post in the forums to ask the question, only to discover that I couldn't without a name from the site on my account here, and I couldn't run the game here. After the issue was addressed, I returned here to set up an account and start posting, only to discover that I can't, it still won't let me on through here. As soon as I hit "Play", it starts up the URL and begins to lead the page, then, stops. As in, freezes up my browser (Safari), erases a bit of my history, and forces me to Ctrl+Alt+Delete shut down the browser. The only reason I can post here now is using the account I set up earlier (that I couldn't use at the time) on the Steam access program, making a knight (and taking him through the opening trials), then using that knight as my persona here.

I get no error message, for the record. Any other information that might be needed I can provide, but I don't plan to start listing technical data unless it's needed. I just want to know if there's a fix.

Whenever I try it I'm either

Whenever I try it I'm either already logged in with a standard account, the one I'm using now, or I'm not logged in with any account. Whenever I try to access the URL

http://www.spiralknights.com/play.xhtml

It freezes up.

Clicking play while logged in

Clicking play while logged in as a Steam user redirects the browser to a steam url for launching the game.

As in, freezes up my browser (Safari), erases a bit of my history, and forces me to Ctrl+Alt+Delete shut down the browser.
That honestly sounds more like an issue with Safari than anything else. Have you tried a different browser on a web account to see if the same thing happens?

I logged out of Steam and

I logged out of Steam and used Internet Explorer, and it actually went through and is downloading now.

I hope it's Safari, because that would just mean I have one more reason to dump it sooner, versus having to log out of Steam any time I play SK (or other games).

You can eliminate the need

You can eliminate the need for using the play link all together by using the downloadable client link underneath the Java window.
