Curse Status

A few times I've noticed people saying how curse is an overpowered status. I don't know how true that is though. How does it actually compare to, say, setting an enemy on fire?

yeah, that's my problem with curse
For most enemies, by the time you've cursed them, they're about to die anyway. Curse is extremely powerful, but its power is only really useful against big enemies (e.g. lichen colonies) that take a while to kill.

Or against Royal Jelly.
At least, I'd think so, given how I believe his constant healing would count as an ability.
Never gotten the chance to try it myself, I never seem to get Curse out in the field, only in Advanced Training.

Yes, the Jelly King counts as a big enemy that takes a while to kill. Curse is very useful against him.

I always bring as many curse
I always bring as many curse bottles with me as I can when I JK. It shaves so much time off my run I swear I once soloed him in something like 50 seconds.

Curse is the most powerful
Curse is the most powerful status in my opinion. Works great for PVP and is rare to find in PvE. It works great when are crowd of monsters is attempting to attack you.

Dunno about the most powerfull...i think sleep could be the one most powerfull in lockdown, if they're sleep based weapons, but thats another talk...
Still the difference in cursing to other status is that last longer and takes a good amount of health when the enemy makes a move...

Curse wrecks RT.
Once one twin is attackable throw a curse vial at it. EVERY time the twin attacks with any missile it gets hurt:)
And it gets hurt for Every bullet it shoots so Curse is overpowered against them.
And Raz Sleep would own in lockdown >)

Ahh, I fell for it! It's a 2 month old thread.
With regards to PvE, curse is, against most enemies, far better than setting them on fire. It does large amounts of damage any time they use an ability, including attacking. Numerous times, I've seen a Cursed Darkfang Thwacker try to heal himself, only to be killed by the Curse damage, and putting it on a Silkwing is pretty much guaranteed to kill them. Some enemies are immune to it, however, just like any other status. In Lockdown, Cursing an enemy has two outcomes - they either kill themselves trying to used the Cursed weapon, or they stop using that weapon until the Curse effect wears off. However, if you've hit them with Curse, then you're using Faust or Gran Faust, and have hit them with the second swing in the combo, which means they're likely dead already anyways, or at least almost there.
