Jelly King

Hello there,

I had some questions and suggestions about the jelly king fight.

First off, how do you beat him? It's almost impossible to win. I followed the guides on wiki and whatnot and I just can't beat him and quite frankly "hit him with your sword" as a matter of speech isn't exactly thorough advice. None of the guides really seemed to have any decent insight in what the fight is like. I've tried it solo, with 2, with 3, with 4. I've done 11 fights now and lost 10 of those, the last 10. When does he die? Cause every time I actually did win it seemed completely random. I've gone through the effort of going there so many times now, I just want my sealed sword and antigua, and I'd have them by now if this fight wasn't so impossible.

As a suggestion to it, I think the jelly king needs a little nerf, because only premade parties with people that know exactly how the other plays can beat him, most of the time you don't get that privilege of being there with a teammate who's completely set to complement you the best. Most random parties can NOT defeat him, which is essentially a waste of energy to get there. Especially cause it takes you 50 attempts to get half the coins required for one of the items needed from the jelly coin rewards.

Your thoughts on this would be appreciated

lol, i used to think he was

lol, i used to think he was impossible too, i finally got my sealed sword after what, 20 runs? its actually not that hard. The part that makes it really hard are the blocks that get in the way and his minions. try not to solo him. my strategy is, have stun, poison, curse, freeze, health, and fire vials. make sure everyone is on the button before u hit the ghost box. try to make it make eery box dissapear. if it doesn't, wait for them to regenerate again and try again. After that, step on the button. when he appears, his minions appear in front of him. Have two people distract his minions while u and someone else starts throwing vials and hitting him. in a matter of seconds, he will prolly go rage. at this point, make sure to throw poison and curse vials. stay out of his way when he is in rage, but immediatly attack him after hes done. keep his minions at bay, and throw vials constantly. my fastest run was 30seconds lol. You can have everyone attacking the RJ, just make sure the minions stay out of your way and occasionally whak them away. o yeah, and constantly hit the ghost box.

Send me a friend request, I can do it very fast. Too fast in my opinion. >.>

Just shoot me up at Depth 13+, and I'll help you kill him, no deaths. :)

What Dark Ritual?

On a side note, my guide must not have been helpful. |:(

Always keep poison and fire vials. If you find a curse vial, grab that as well, as that helps the most.

What you want: Fire Vials, Poison Vials, Curse Vials, and Pills.

•Never gun King Jelly, as the smaller jellies will more-than-likely block the shot.
•When he is spinning, or pink, he is invincible. The only way you can hurt him, is if he is cursed.
•If a party member throws a poison vial, or any other vial, don't go throwing the exact same one a second later, it will not do you any good.
•Try to use Curse Vials after his First Spin.
•If you die, and the people that are alive have very low health, you may want to revive, as the longer everyone is dead, the more he heals without takin damage.
•If you wish to, you may revive immediately for the best of your party.
•Never revive if the Revive Cost is over 20. 20 is still fairly high, especially for T2, but again, you may revive if you'd like.
•^Concluding from that, you may want to only revive 1) At the boss stage (King Jelly.) and 2) Only twice, then stop when the cost says 20.

As a fellow spirit who has met failure at the hands of His Malignant Gelatinous Retardation MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT to the point that it makes me froth at the mouth whenever I see the inside of his palace...

Allow me to share what I've picked up from other players (I've never solo'd him and I don't think I ever will be able to)

1. Poison+Fire or Curse. The former stops his healing (as well as reduces his defenses and stuff, but stopping his healing is far more significant) and the latter two cause him damage.
2. The RJ lacks the Shadow weakness of common jellies, possibly because he's an elitist capitalist suppressive upper-class twit.
3. Give him a contraception manual. Actually, those aren't in the game, and even if they were he's probably an illiterate grape-flavored genetic failure due to several generations of inbreeding with himself. Just ignore his midget deformed stunted children and focus on him alone
4. Always revive immediately when you get the chance. He cannibalizes his young constantly like they were fried chicken wings. The faster you get up, the faster you can get up to him and punch him silly
5. I only have two weapon slots and in the last few successful attempts at RJ I've taken to using a Pulsar and a Nightblade. As for armor I'm using Twisted Targe, Wolver Cap, and Chroma suit.
6. Locate his excretory pore and stick a broom handle in it. Ḿa͠k͘e ̧h͏ím͏ s͏creàm͠.͜ A̸fter ̵al̢l̶ h͘e'̛s͝ d͟o̡ne ̨he͡ deserv͢es i͡t ̴àn͏d much͠ m͘òr͢e. Mfw i do jelly with only guns

Mfw i do jelly with only guns ... :S

you can do jelly with "guns" but a umbra driver and magma driver or toxic gun is a must.
Edit: and you need elite trueshoot mods to outdamage the heal.. so is very expensive.

How to beat royal jelly

1) Gear. You will take hits in the jelly king fight, so you need the right gear. Make sure you have at least 3* gear, with 4*+ being preferable. (personally, I consider Royal Jelly to be a T3 boss in a T2 strata due to the gear requirement.)

2) Leave guns at home. (This advice coming to you from a bona fide gunslinger.)

3) Vials. Make sure you have 3 poison vials. If you can get 3 fire vials and 3 curse vials then that would be great too.

4) Keep Royal jelly poisoned, cursed, and on fire for as long as possible. Shock kind of works if you don't have curse or fire.

5) Focus on Royal jelly. Don't focus the smaller jellies because those will respawn faster than you can take them out. (Believe me I tried, with a fire bomb too. Those things spawn at an incredible rate.)

6) Royal jelly attacks on a timer, and he hits like a freight train. So, anticipate when he'll attack and either back off or block.

7) Royal jelly is invulnerable when he starts to tantrum. (You'll notice this because he'll start to bubble half way though the fight and a shield will surround him.) Back off and heal when you see him tantrum. If you have time after you heal, then prepare a charge attack for when he stops. This turns the second half of the fight into a hit-and-run affair. Attack a little, back off when he tantrums, then run back in and resume hitting.

8) Don't leave Royal Jelly alone for too long. If you leave him alone then he will heal and you will have to start all over again.

9) Try to go in with at least two people. Royal jelly can be soloed, but it's easier if you have several people there because everyone can take turns applying pressure to him. If you are alone then you have to take all the hits yourself.

Good luck.

Two words : Vile Striker I

Two words : Vile Striker

I have soloed him every day since I crafted it and have lost one time I think. Using Vile Striker along with as many poison and curse bottles you can get your hands on is a guaranteed win. All you need to do is use extreme aggressiveness; never ever back down unless he's poisoned and you need to take a quick breather from being surrounded by mini jellies.

SMASH him into his pink stage with a single curse vial and a barrage of attacks. Simply run away and wait for him to return purple. Run back up and use curse and poison vials while necessary. Again, aggression is KEY.

You'll understand once your in there following these steps. It gets very easy.

You can send me a friend invite as well if you'd like. I pretty much do nothing but JK runs at this point, and most of the time we have room for one more.

Not really sure if there's anything else I can add to what's already been said, except this: Never attack the small jellies.

I've solo'd him enough to get

I've solo'd him enough to get 2 sealed swords and my antigua. Usually only having to revive once during the fight (sometimes none, sometimes twice). I was using ash tail gear (then upgraded to skolver) with a grey owlite shield and a leviathan blade. Basically what most people say, have curse, poison, fire, and pills.

I start by hitting the ghost block to make the wall disappear, switch to leviathan and start charging it while moving onto the button. When they spawn, run around the small jellies and release the charge on JK. Then I throw a curse and fire vial on him. Usually I stay close and swing twice, then block. This gives 2 hits and puts my shield up for his attack. It's a matter of timing you just have to get used to. You do NOT want to get hit by his attack. Don't worry much about the small jellies surrounding you for now, just keep the pressure on with the curse, fire, and attacks and keep your shield up for his attack. If the big pink jellies surround you, then you may need to start dodging a little more to avoid their attacks, but don't worry about trying to kill them. You can make an occasional charge attack while on the run to clean some little jellies up if you like, but it can be a waste of time if the JK is healing a lot (not cursed and on fire).

Once he goes into his spin, heal up what you can. Try not to waste time healing before he goes into his tantrum unless you absolutely have to. Avoid his spin attacks. Charge your weapon while waiting and go in immediately to hit when he stops. Get your poison vial on him right away. Standard hit/shield combo until he spins again. Charge attack and throw poison each time he stops moving, and it shouldn't take too long to finish.

Sadly, I've had better luck soloing JK than trying to run with groups. I've never actually finished him while with a group. Not sure if it's because the others didn't know what to do, or something else. But I figured I had to solo him if I was ever planning on getting my sealed swords and antigua. Patience paid off for me I guess.

i solo'd it for the first

i solo'd it for the first time to test my faust (no not the gran faust the first one haha the 4*) and it was a breeze...

just make sure you have some piercing armor (wolver line) and for a sword i use eighter a calibur line, brandish (fire or ice, fire can help counter the healing the RJ does) or faust (if you are lucky you can keep him cursed so every thing he does will hurt him like hell)

then try to take poison, curse and fire viles with you (carefull with the miniswarm haha and actualy hit the RJ with the viles)

using my skolver armor and barb shield (max damage with sword) i roughly do 200+ damage/ hit on charge (dunno how much he heals) the RJ doesn't get knockback so all 3 hits conect and send the swarm flying (so you can get some extra hits in before they swarm you again) if he turns pink run away and start charging but again avoid the mini's, and repeat :)

for faust DON'T use the charge wich will curse you to 1 chance in 5 (but this is a RJ reward sword -> sealed sword so you wont have this yet)

but not defeating him with 2/3/4 people? that's just bad comunication i think. i mostly do RJ runs with 2 friends/guild members and never have any problems (we can how ever need to revive when we all get swarmed with mini's)

so in short do as much damage in a short amount of time (and don't stop becaus you'll just be fighting a loosing batlle) after enough damage he turns pink and starts charging so you can hit him (i think if he's cursed it will hurt him like hell) keep him poisoned, on fire or cursed at all times (as long as you have viles that is) he's not that hard but him beeing able to heal makes it a bit harder so if you are running while he's not charging he will heal and you did all the work for nothing
