So I went to a "construct themed" deconstruction zone.
During the entire level I fought a bunch of gremlins and... 1 mecha knight.
Could they be a little more varied if themed?

The Gremlins are fairly varied themselves, and there are usually several Mecha Knights, a lot of Gun Puppies, and even an occasional Tortodrone (though these are of course rare)
You mean the stratum was construct? I don't think that has much influence on the deconstruction zones. Kind of like graveyards and treasure vaults, you just expect certain monsters to appear there.
