So I've got nameless set, with AP and polaris
The ASI sys 'very high' but I don't notice any difference at all. i feel like a jackass for wasting money on it.
is there some way of measuring the velocity?

The difference is slight but important as it'll let you empty your clip faster and get to shielding/moving sooner. Easiest way to test is to go to the Advanced Training Hall and count your shots for one minute with and without the Nameless Set.

One thing I don't get is why people are in a frenzy for ASI UVs on guns, but hate the ASI on Gunslinger gear. . .
MAKE UP YOUR MIND PEOPLE!
@Sol-Xii i loled
but i really, really want a FOCUS CHAP for gunslinger.. CTR bonus = Alchemer and autogun Charge Pew pew
You can test it if you have a gameing mouse that supports macros like Death Adder. In preticular with the < insert delay > in millisecconds function.
With low or no ASI my shots from a 3 clip look like this in transit:
-------O--------------O--------------O
With ASI juiced up to ultra or maximum! they look like such:
-------O----O-----O-------------------
----------------------^___________^*
*This is the time I have saved and could have shielded or began loading another clip faster.
Try making a swiftstrike buckler to offpiece or sidegrade with, that will help pronounce the effects.

It's "attack speed increased" not "projectile speed increased".
I know it's confusing, but ASI reduces the time between shots.
You can see this clearly if you try to spam Pulsar/Polaris in the training hall, similar to Luke's example. Try it with Nameless, then remove your Nameless and try again.

Non-gunslingers wouldn't be spending money on Nameless/Justifier. Gun ASI is the only thing they have to boost attack speed.
Now, Slingers can be a victim of selective memory sometimes... :D
ASI affect the animation shoot so, you can "Shoot and wait" more fast.
-Autogun line Charge attack is affect by ASI .. its the diference in finish the charge attack in 2,5 to 1 or 1,5 sec (Thats can save you life)
Also
It's "attack speed increased" not "projectile speed increased".
-Magnus bullets its a animation (Not considered a "bullet") so its affected by ASI. (Thats why devilities and wolvers dont dodge the bullet)
Greetings! Gonna explain as Master Gunslinger what ASI actually does:
- it does decrease the time between bullets
- it does decrease the time you need to grap your gun and bring it back in normal position. this helps to not empty a clip faster. for example if you use your proto gun you can do: "shot shot shot reload" or "shot shot wait". the 2nd will greatly increase your damage per second and it will allow you to shield when ever you want, not have to wait for reload, saving your ass often ;D
- it does not increase the bullet speed
- it does not decrease reload time (but it decreases the animation before and after the reload)
- it does slightly decrease the time you need to pull of a charge (same as for swords, wich can be clearly seen at the cutter charge with and without ASI) how ever, guns that are worth to pull a charge are better with charge time reduction as UV, so ASI is something for your gear (hat and poncho)
there is something that confuses players if you play with another gunslinger: the bullet speed. the bullets of other knights allways travel faster than your own, due prevent lag with this. for example if you use a magnus and your friend does it too, it seems for both of you each others bullets would travel faster - they dont.
every gun has a bullet, even magnus, that not just an animation. you still can miss with it and overtimed devilites sometimes even are able to avoid them in T3. when i was younger in that game i thought too that its just an animation and an explosion at the target you aim. its not like this :P
Callahan (Magnus): superior fast
Antigua: very very fast
Blitz Needle: very fast
Alchemer 5 star **: fast
Alchemer 4 star **: medium-fast
Alchemer 3 star **: medium
Alchemer 2 star **: slow-medium
Pepperbox and Autogun (Autogun also turns into Blitz Needle, becoming faster): slow
Catalyzer *: very slow
Pulsar *: very slow
*slightly gets faster for each level (stars, not normal levels)
** gets much faster for each level (stars, not normal levels)
Goddamn this ASI, I still find it ABSOLUTELY useless. I should have gone with deadshot or shadowsun.
ASI is a gyp.
ASI is the most important thing you can have as gunslinger ... shadowsun sucks and deadshot is not a gunslinger armor ...
@Steve
Things will click and you will get it at some point, for me it happened in Cravet Hall in T3 fighting cats. With good ASI I suddenly realized I had all this spare time to shoot more moves, pull off more shield bumps, more time to aim acurately, and my run-n-gun accuracy also improved because with less travel time inbetween shots, less leading and correction need to be made. This is basically when I began to lean to lead the dance rather than keep up or follow.
-Luke
CTR armor for guns??? Imagine it with Biohazard or Blitz Needle. . . and btw haters, DON'T DISS SHADOWSUN. My favorite setup is Maximum Atk damage bonus: Full Shadowsun, w/ two Elite Trueshoot Modules. Screw the poison and curse weaknesses, I don't care about Phantoms or Toxilargos, and I'll never use GF with it! (Maybe cause I also don't have it) The Deadshot does stick out though.

How could you TLDR our arguments? :D
Looks like you are beyond our help. You will have to find the truth on your own.*
*Once you have equipped another armor you will miss your ASI.
Screw the poison and curse weaknesses
I'm sure I would cry when I accidentally walk into brambles... in a graveyard... with a half a minute poison and 1-2 phantoms attacking... not to mention poison arenas...
Shadowsun... not as first armor though... unless OOO decides to buff it to med damage bonus per suit, then maybe...
Yesh, I lurv brambly weaknessesem toos.
But to the point, Shadowsun atk bonus med would turn all the gunslingers toward that line, there is a thread (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/20326) about someone asking to buff the Shadowsun stuff because it's underpowered compared to the swodie and bomber equivalents: Skolver, Mad Bomber.
^^^Hey, you edited out your mistake! That makes my above statement redundant. :'(
Sol-Xii you have to join me at a T3 run. I can show you how much ASI does affect you. I'm allways to have for a run so - why not? ^^ Add me if you want - you anyway seem to be active ingame and here ^^
^^^(My catchphrase ^_^ or any other variant)
I do notice the ASI. I do. I really do. I just like Shadowsun because it sounds so cool. . . (The atk bonus is just an add-on)
Guy: "What armor u wearing?" Sol-Xii: "Shadowsun :)" Guy: "WOAHHHH"
Guy: "What armor are u wearing Abathur?"
Abathur: "Nameless Poncho with Justifier Hat that fortunately gained at production a max UV for Pierce and a low for Shadow and an awesome Shadowsun Costume"
Guy: "gasp *___* ... may i touch it??"
Abathur: "Maybe yes ... maybe no ;D"
Lucky for you, i just test the difference of the AS on blackhawk with me (no Gun ASI bonus) and my friend who uses gunslinger set. test it out against a box and crystal, he did it like 2-3 times faster than me, and thats the only way i know how to test AS.
